Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies for Simchat Torah

Hallo again, Effurrybody!

It is I, Queen Trixie, here again to lead my fellow J-Cats on this weekend's blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by Our Dear Furriends, the Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

I had a hard time choosing between several lovely selfies Mummy helped me take over the Weekend but I finally narrowed it down to two - and here they are.

I like the top one, because of the way the sunlight from the window behind me plays on my fur.

And I like the second one because it shows off my floofy tail and my jewel-like eyes to such purrfection. Also, Mummy used a Soft Light filter, which makes my furs even glossier.

We popped over to LunaPic, as usual, to do the artification. For the furrst picture, We used the Surreal Painting effect, overlaid with the Watercolour art effect, at 30%:

For the second picture, We used the Frida art effect at 70%:

We don't have much time today to write a long blog, because Mummy is hosting her sister, Auntie N. and brother-in-law, Uncle B. for supper this evening - the eve of Simchat Torah, when Mewish people celebrate the completion of the annual cycle of weekly Torah readings.  You can read more about it in the link Mummy helped Us find.

To be quite honest, most of the meal is being cooked by Mummy's brother, Uncle D., who is staying with Us again. He volunteered - no, really! He did! But Mummy made lots of salads to go with the meal, so She was busy all meowning and  couldn't come and take dictation for this blog until quite late.

So all We have left to do for now is to put up the blog hop badges:

Next week, We hope to be able to give you an update on Milo, the little kitten who Step-Grandma was looking after, as well as news of Intruder Kitty Callicallou and Melba.

Till then, Chag Sameach (חג שמח - A Joyous Festival).

Be well. Be safe. We love you all.

The J-Cats at Sukkot: Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies

Greetings, Dear Furriends!

It's time, once again, to join the weekend blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by those sweet and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

So, which of Us is going to have the honour of leading the J-Cats on the bloggie hops?
Can you guess?

That's right! ALL of Us!

In honour of the Mewish festival of Sukkot (Tabernacles) which starts tonight, We are, once again, bringing you an Ussie (which are no longer as rare as they used to be)!

Here We are:

And it's not only Us. You can also see two of Our Pawsselain Dolly Sisters, Miss Dorothea (the blue-eyed blonde) and Miss Laura (the brown-eyed brunette).

And, for once, We are not keeping Our Distance, but We are all snuggled up close and purrsonal!

If you want to read more about Sukkot, how and why it is celebrated, you can do so here.

The most impawtant thing for you to know is, that you are all invited to visit Us in Our Sukkah during the coming week. We all worked furry hard to build it and then to decorate it and We would like you to be Our Ushpizin, Our Honoured Guests.

Here We are, waiting for you:

We have also made a greeting card to wish you Chag Sukkot Sameach (חג סוכות שמח - A Joyous Sukkot Festival):

And, for the Caturday Art bloggie hop, We artified it with LunaPic's beautiful Stained Glass effect at 50%:

Now to put up the blog hop badges:

Don't forget now! We will be welcoming guests effurry day in Our beautiful Sukkah, so come and share a glass of silvervine wine, and some fresh catnip with Us, as well as a wealth of other delightful snacks. We look forward to seeing you.

Till then - Be well. Be safe. We love you all!

Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies for Yom Kippurrrrr

Greetings, Effurrybody!

Since this coming Tuesday evening sees the start of Yom Kippurrrrr, (the Day of Atonement), the Holiest Day in the Mewish calendar, all three of Us wanted to share Our Sunday Selfies with Our Furriends, to wish you all A Good Final Sealing (גמר חתימה טובה - G'mar Hatima Tova).

Furrst up, here is Trixie:

You can't see her magnificent, floofy tail, but don't worry. That's only because it is neatly tucked in behind her - or underneath her.

Next, here is Caspurr - true to Our Earnest Belief that Sunday Selfies is merely another way of saying Sunday Snoozies:

And last, but furry definitely not least, here is Shimshi:

He also furrmly believes that Sundays (and Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Caturdays) are for snoozing (mol).

So how are We going to decide which of Us will be leading the J-Cats on this weekend's blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by those delightful and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet?

Well, We'll let you into a little secret.  This week, We are giving that honour to a guest - a little kitten who has seemingly adopted Step-Grandma and has taken up residence in her front yard. As you can imagine, Our Woofie Uncle Messi wasn't too happy about that, but he seems to have grown used to the idea (more or less). However, Step-Grandma can't let the little kitten into the house, because one of her grand-daughters has asthma and being in the same house with a kitty brings on a severe allergic attack. However, the little kitty, whom Step-Grandma has named Milo, is being well cared for. There is a small store-room off the courtyard, with a gate, where Step-Grandma keeps chairs, and she has made a little hidey-hole there for Milo. When it starts to get cold, she will put a blanket on one of the chairs and make a little nest for him. And she feeds him four times a day, so that he seems to have doubled in size (Step-Grandma says) over the past fortnight. Mummy filmed him and took some photos also and although She was afraid he might be lonely, so far, he seems to be purrfectly happy playing with large leaves and destroying Step-Grandma's potted plants (mol).

Here he is, Effurrybody. Meet Milo!

Step-Grandma thinks he looks rather like Shimshi. What do you think?

Anyway, Mummy took his picture over to LunaPic, and added the Surreal Painting Effect and one of their elegant frames:

And then, she overlaid that with the Tuscany Art effect at 50%, and added a different frame:

Which do you like best?

Now, We mustn't fur-get to put up the blog hop badges:

Once more, We wish you all G'mar Hatima Tova.

Be well. Be safe. We love you all.

An Ussie for Rosh Hashana: Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies

Hallo again, Effurrybuddies!

This is going to be a furry short post, because tonight is the start of Rosh Hashana - the Mewish New Year - and Mummy needs her opposable thumbs to prepurr her part of the festive family meal, and can only put them at Our disposal for a furry short time. This time last year, if you recall, Mummy caught the Evil Mutant Ninja Coronavirus, which totally wrecked the plans for a Family Dinner! So We are anxious nothing should go wrong this time!

Last week, We said We weren't sure if We'd have time to post this week, but We really don't want to miss taking part in the weekend blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Deliciously Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

So furrst of all, here is Our Sunday Snoozie -er - Selfie. Well, Ussie, if you want to be completely accurate:

And for the artsy-fartsy version, We have made a Rosh Hashana greeting card:

For those of you who don't understand Hebrew, Shana Tova (שנה טובה) means "a Good Year", which is what We wish you all. The apples and the honey and the pomegranates in the picture are traditional foods eaten on Rosh Hashana - apples and honey for a sweet year, and pomegranates, because they are said to have 613 seeds, corresponding with the 613 mitzvot (commandments) of the Torah.

Now it is time to add the blog hop badges:

And finally, We will wish you all לשנה טובה תיכתבו ותיחתמו - Leshana Tova Tikhatevu ve'Tihatemu - May you be inscribed and sealed for a Good Year.

Be well. Be safe. We love you all.

Intruder Update and Guest Selfie: Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies

 Hallo again, Effurrybody!

Mummy made her furrst attempt this morning at getting Intruder Kitty CalliCallou into the PTU Cat Carrier and taking her to the V-E-T, so as to make sure she has no dangerous, infectious diseases she could pass to Us, before bringing her indoors and making her one of the Furr-mily..
You will no doubt have gathered - since We said "attempt" - that it was unsuccessful. CalliCallou was spooked the moment she saw the Cat Carrier and backed off. Mummy tried to tempt her with Treats, but CalliCallou, was too smart and streetwise to fall for that old trick. Mummy tried to grab her and push her into the Cat Carrier, but CalliCallou wasn't having any of that. Oh, she was very polite and well-behaved. She didn't bite or scratch. But she still made it quite clear that she was NOT going into the PTU. So Mummy put the Carrier back inside and stroked and petted CalliCallou - and CalliCallou, surprisingly, let her. Mummy was afraid She had scared CalliCallou right off, but she came back for lunch - together with another little kitty who is always hanging around her (Mummy's neighbour thinks the other kitty is CalliCallou's daughter, though Mummy thinks it's a baby mancat).

So Mummy thinks that since CalliCallou seems to be happy just staying out on the porch and getting regular meals and hanging out with the other kitty (who is light peach and white, and whom Mummy calls Melba, after Peach Melba), She will just leave her there till after the High Holy Days and then, when it starts getting cold at night, and maybe rainy too, She will have another try. Maybe CalliCallou will be more amenable then. What bothers Mummy, however, and Us too, is what to do with the other little kitty. We live in a medium-sized apawtment and there really isn't room for FIVE kitties!

Now, dear Furriends, it is time for Us to join the weekend blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Deliciously Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

It's been a while since We shared a Guest Selfie of Our Woofie Uncle, Messi, so here he is - and furry sleepy he is, too. Well, We always said We do mostly Sunday Snoozies:

Uncle Messi - who lives with Grandpaw and Step-Grandma - gave Us a Power-of-Cattorney to turn his Selfie into Art, so We took it over to LunaPic. There we applied the Coffee filter - coffee being a thing Mummy seemingly can't do without, like many Humans, it appears (mol/bol):

That still didn't seem sufficiently interesting, so We hopped on over to PhotoFunia where, bearing in mind that the Autumn Equinox is later this week, We chose a suitably autumnal frame:

We hope Uncle Messi approves of the Result!

Now, here are the bloggie hop badges:

Before We go, Mummy wants to remind you to check out her own blog, where She posted a description of a guided walk around an interesting part of Our City, Jerusalem, earlier this month.

One more thing! As you know, We only post on Sundays. Next Sunday is the Eve of Rosh Hashana, the Mewish New Year, and Mummy will no doubt be busy doing her part in prepurring the Festive Family Meal, so We don't know if We will be able to post. In case We don't, We would like to wish you all a Happy and Healthy Mew Year.

Be Well. Be Safe. We love you all.

Snoozing In Many Colours: Caturday Art And Sunday Selfies With Shimshi

Hallo again, Effurrybuddies!

Shimshi here, enjoying a Sunday Snoozie - and while I don't mind My Human waking Me up to take selfies (because I am super Handsome, after all - effurrybody says so!), I do object to her sneaking up on Me while I am snoozing, in order to Assault Me with a Dreadful Device known as The Furminator!!!

Yes, that's what She did, kitties! She said my coat was getting matted, just like it did this time Last Year and that if I didn't want to be hauled off to the Evil V-E-T, who would likely simply shear off my furs, I had better let her use this grooming device She bought a year ago, after my Previous Attack of Matted Fur!

Now, kitties, I don't know about you, but as an expurrienced cattorney, I call that Duress!!!

But prefurrable to a visit to the Evil Stabby Place, I suppose...

Now, it is time to join this weekend's blog hops - the Caturday Art Blog Hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Snoozies Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by those Delightful and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

My Snoozie Selfie features ME resting My Head on one of My Our beautiful tapestry pillows. We found it difficult to make up Our Minds which of the many lovely LunaPic filters We tried was the most interesting, so here are five of the best. Feel free to choose for yourselves which is your favourite.

Furrst of all, We used the Harsh Lighting filter, as is, with no other additions:

Of course, Harsh Lighting is not exactly the best idea when a kitty is trying to snooze, so next, We tried Sketch2, at 80%:

For Our Third Attempt, We used Gorky, at 78%:

We don't think We've effur used that one before, though We might be mistaken. It has lovely autumnal colours, don't you think?  Not that there is any indication here in Jerusalem of the approach of that season...

Next up, here is an effect We are pretty sure We haven't used before - Dawn.

And last, but by no means least, a filter ideal for a snoozing kitty lost in a dream world. No, not Dreaming (got you there - MOL), but Floating, at 70%:

This last one is definitely the most colourful - and the filter is one of Our Perennial Favourites.

So which do YOU like best?

Now, here are the Blog Hop Badges:

And off We go, to visit Our Old Furriends and hopefully, to make some new ones also!

Be well. Be safe. We love you all.

Caspurr's Cuddly Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies

Hallo again, Effurryone!

Caspurr here (the Snuggle Bug), repurresenting the J-Cats on this weekend's blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie  and the Sunday Snoozies Selfies blog, hosted by the Deliciously Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

See! Here is My Snoozy Selfie:

Mummy and I made several different artifications of My Pawtrait, all of them with the help of LunaPic. You must tell Us which is your favourite, in the Comments section below.

Furrst up, here is an artsy-fartsy creation using the Psychedelic filter, at 58%:

I think I look purrticularly cuddly in this one, don't you?

Next, here I am as a fierce tigger kitty, using Jungle at 63%:

And no.#3  is Me being all summery, with Sunshine, set at 60%:

We did one more, and turned it into a puzzle for you. This one used the Woodsey Art effect, at 75%.

Before We set off on the bloggie hops, We want to apawlogise for sometimes missing some of your posts. For some reason, Mummy is no longer receiving EMail notifications of many of the blogs to which She subscribed. This is just one more in a long list of weird things that have been happening, both on Blogger and on Wordpress. Sometimes, Mummy does a Double Take and says to herself: "Goodness! I haven't seen So-and-So for ages!" and then She goes to look for them and discovers half a dozen posts for which She should have received notification, but didn't. But being a gazillion years old (sorry, Mummy), She doesn't always remember to go and look!

Now, here are the blog hop badges:

And off We go!

Be well. Be safe. We love you all!
