Intruder Update and Guest Selfie: Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies

 Hallo again, Effurrybody!

Mummy made her furrst attempt this morning at getting Intruder Kitty CalliCallou into the PTU Cat Carrier and taking her to the V-E-T, so as to make sure she has no dangerous, infectious diseases she could pass to Us, before bringing her indoors and making her one of the Furr-mily..
You will no doubt have gathered - since We said "attempt" - that it was unsuccessful. CalliCallou was spooked the moment she saw the Cat Carrier and backed off. Mummy tried to tempt her with Treats, but CalliCallou, was too smart and streetwise to fall for that old trick. Mummy tried to grab her and push her into the Cat Carrier, but CalliCallou wasn't having any of that. Oh, she was very polite and well-behaved. She didn't bite or scratch. But she still made it quite clear that she was NOT going into the PTU. So Mummy put the Carrier back inside and stroked and petted CalliCallou - and CalliCallou, surprisingly, let her. Mummy was afraid She had scared CalliCallou right off, but she came back for lunch - together with another little kitty who is always hanging around her (Mummy's neighbour thinks the other kitty is CalliCallou's daughter, though Mummy thinks it's a baby mancat).

So Mummy thinks that since CalliCallou seems to be happy just staying out on the porch and getting regular meals and hanging out with the other kitty (who is light peach and white, and whom Mummy calls Melba, after Peach Melba), She will just leave her there till after the High Holy Days and then, when it starts getting cold at night, and maybe rainy too, She will have another try. Maybe CalliCallou will be more amenable then. What bothers Mummy, however, and Us too, is what to do with the other little kitty. We live in a medium-sized apawtment and there really isn't room for FIVE kitties!

Now, dear Furriends, it is time for Us to join the weekend blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Deliciously Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

It's been a while since We shared a Guest Selfie of Our Woofie Uncle, Messi, so here he is - and furry sleepy he is, too. Well, We always said We do mostly Sunday Snoozies:

Uncle Messi - who lives with Grandpaw and Step-Grandma - gave Us a Power-of-Cattorney to turn his Selfie into Art, so We took it over to LunaPic. There we applied the Coffee filter - coffee being a thing Mummy seemingly can't do without, like many Humans, it appears (mol/bol):

That still didn't seem sufficiently interesting, so We hopped on over to PhotoFunia where, bearing in mind that the Autumn Equinox is later this week, We chose a suitably autumnal frame:

We hope Uncle Messi approves of the Result!

Now, here are the bloggie hop badges:

Before We go, Mummy wants to remind you to check out her own blog, where She posted a description of a guided walk around an interesting part of Our City, Jerusalem, earlier this month.

One more thing! As you know, We only post on Sundays. Next Sunday is the Eve of Rosh Hashana, the Mewish New Year, and Mummy will no doubt be busy doing her part in prepurring the Festive Family Meal, so We don't know if We will be able to post. In case We don't, We would like to wish you all a Happy and Healthy Mew Year.

Be Well. Be Safe. We love you all.

Thank you for the update in CalliCallou, sweet friends. We are glad she was not scared off after your mum tried to put her in the carrier. That seems like a good sign that she trusts and loves Mum. The plan to wait until after the Holidays sounds like a good one. It was nice to see Uncle Messi today. He sure took a terrific selfie.

Hugs to you all, and Shana Tova!

Messi is such a cute doggie, and the coffee filter suits him perfectly. I also love what you did by framing him in the last one. He fits in very well with all of the autumn colours.

The last picture of Uncle Messi is purr-fect!
Maybe your mommy should try to bundle CalliCallou in a thick towel
when time to get into the dreaded PTU. That's what Lynn does to me and
I already live inside! But I do not like to leave the house. Precious

Trixie and all, maybe your mommy could let Lynn know about the other bloggie

That is a lovely picture and art of Uncle Messi. I agree that instead of trying to get CalliCallou in the carrier it might be easier to get a towel over her and bundle her up so you can get her inside to try and get her in the carrier. Towel as well if necessary. We used to have three semi feral kitties and that was the only way I could catch one of them if he had to go to the vet.

Hi Guys! Marvelous here! Yes, we posted today, Mommy is still painting, floors are still being laid and Mom is taking a break from painting the ceiling, so I insisted we come and see you! Cinnamon says Uncle Messi is quite handsome. Being a cat, I thought I would get her opinion. I also LOVE the art you guys created!
And you have an outside kitty? CalliCallou sounds like Merle. Merle is one of Mary's Clowder up the street. He is now an inside cat at night and an outside cat during the day. Mary thinks he will also want to be an inside cat during the day too this winter (he still wanted outside everyday last winter). Good luck with CalliCallou Purrs Marv

Maybe you could find a home for the two of them together. Cute selfie of the pup, but I prefer seeing you cuties. Shanah Tovah! XO

CalliCallou is a crafty creature...maybe a live trap, which would double as a carrier?

Hope it all works out...and now a second kitty tags along? Hmmm, must br the mews of good noms spreads around.

Messi is a handsome pup, for sure.

We go into the PTUs hard. But TBT is bigger than us, so all go in eventually. We hate it. But after the vet visit, we go in on our own.

Kinna embarrassing, but we know we are going home again...

Finally made it over to see you. Long time no see, and sadly will be a few more weeks between visirts as sickly person is, well, still sick. Now, that dear little feline pal clearly is nice else. Paws crossed come winter as you say, she'll be ready to be an indoor kitty. We love your artwork of Uncle Messi. He looks like he's got the hang of catnapping!. Plus I see theres plenty of room on his cosy bed for a few felines should they choose to honor Messi with a visit.
Purrs to your staff and all.

My momma has rescued over 100 cats in her lifetime. When a stray kitty is nervous about going into the pet carrier, you have to think outside the box. Literally! Leave the carrier on the porch empty for a while so she gets used to seeing it. Then leave a treat by it, edging the treat closer and closer to the door over the course of a week or so. Then start putting a small plate of food inside the carrier door. Gradually move it farther and farther back. THEN... when you see she is readily entering the carrier to eat, skip a meal so she gets really hungry. So the next time you put food in, she runs inside and you can quickly close her in the carrier. This probably will work just once, so you have to be ready.
