Shimshi's End of Winter Caturday Art and Sunday Selfie

Hallo again, Effurrybuddies!

Shimshi here, presenting this week's Sunday Selfie, with which We are joining the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by the deliciously Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

Here is their badge:

The day after tomorrow, We have General Elections - and Mummy STILL hasn't made up Her Mind who to vote for!
However, there are purrlenty of Good Things happening this week!

For example .....

Today is the Furrst Day of Spring! Isn't it Wonderful?

Here in Israel, it's lovely and warm - 24 degrees C in Jerusalem and expected to rise to 27C! The sun is shining and there are OODLES of sunpuddles!

The night between Thursday and Furriday, the clocks will move forward, stealing an hour of Our Precious Beauty Sleep (bad). On the Other Paw, that means that We will receive breakfast an hour sooner (good).

And next Saturday night is the Seder Night - the start of Pessach (Passover).

All of the above inspired Our Caturday Art.

Mummy made a lovely Pessach greeting card:

But She also tried turning My Pawtrait into a vintage-style sepia photo and then inserting it into another Tribute to Spring:

We are having quite a discussion about which one of them should repurresent Us on the Caturday Art Blog Hop, hosted by the Wise and beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie!  Here is their badge.

Which one do You prefurr?

Now it is time for Us to start visiting Our Furriends. Before We go, here is one more quick reminder that, until We are finally free of the Evil Coronavirus, We and Our Humans must carry on Social Distancing, wearing face-masks - and, above all, Washing Our Paws.

Chag Sameach!  Happy Pessach

Keep well. Keep safe. We love you all.

Caspurr's Exhausticating Day - Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies

Hallo again, Effurryone!

Furrst of all, let me wish all My Furriends Shavua Tov (a Good Week) and also Chodesh Tov (a Good Month), as today is the furrst day of the Hebrew month of Nissan. You know what that means, don't you?
That means it is exactly two weeks to go till Pessach (Passover)!
Pessach is Our Favourite Mewish holiday. That is when Mummy celebrates Her Birthday - and so, too, does Shimshi.

Speaking of Birthdays, yesterday We celebrated Mine, as purromised, with a (belated) Birthday Picnic up in the Enchanted Forest. After that, We went for a walk to the nearby Lupin Hill. In the evening, We came home and I was so exhausticated from all the Fun (and Food - MOL) that I fell asleep almost immediately and only awoke when it was time for Late Night Supper.

We thought this picture, where my fine moustache and eye whiskers are so clearly defined, would make an admirable contribution to the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by the Uniquely Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet, whose badge you can see below:

We then did a bit of tinkering with the help of LunaPic, and added their Grey Art filter at 50%:

Finally, We chose a classic frame over at PhotoFunia:

Now, the picture is just right to serve as Our Entry in this week's Caturday Art Blog Hop, hosted by the Wise and Lovely Athena and her HuMum, Marie, whose badge We reproduce below:

One last Reminder, before We set out visiting Our Furriends - Many are still waiting to be vaccinated against the Evil Coronavirus, so it is still Impawtant to purractice Due Care and Diligence. That means Social Distancing, Face-masks and, of course (something effurry kitty knows instinctively), remembering always to Wash Your Paws.

Be well. Be safe. We love you all.

Happy Birthday, Caspurr!

Greetings, Effurryone!

I know We don't usually post more than once a week, but since Mummy neglected to mention My Birthday in Our Post on Sunday, We are posting again today and I have a Special Post, ALL TO MYSELF!

I expect Mummy was still rather discombobulated about nearly squishing Trixie. Nothing else can explain such DERELICTION OF DUTY!

Anyway, to make matters crystal clear, Sunday,  March 7th, was my 8th birthday. But We are celebrating it en famille TODAY, 25th Adar, which is My Birthday  according to the Hebrew calendar.

Now, I wonder what this could be?

Clearly, closer investigation is required.

Such a lovely BOX!
It's quite large - and gift-wrapped.
I wonder what's inside it. Could it be ... Yes, it must be.

A Prezzie for Li'l Ole Me! I wonder who sent it.

We shall have another celebration this Shabbat, March 13th, up in the Enchanted Forest, to which you are all invited. We have decided to have a picnic luncheon at 2 p.m. Israel time - and We shall continue celebrating all afternoon, until dusk. Those who are interested, are invited to explore the nearby Lupin Hill, which We mentioned a couple of weeks ago, and to enjoy the view over the Old City of Jerusalem.  The weather forecast is Warm and Sunny.

For those of you who might be hesitating, I want to explain that you will all be Quite Safe, because the Evil Coronavirus has no power in the Enchanted Forest.
So I am hoping to see you all there.

Till then, be well. Be safe. And don't fur-get to KEEP WASHING THOSE PAWS!

Trixie's sunpuddles: Smoky Caturday Art and Snoozy Sunday Selfies

Hallo again, Effurrybody and Shavua Tov (a Good Week).

This past week hasn't been such a good one though, with the loss of yet another icon of the Cat Blogosphere departing for the Rainbow Bridge.
Run free, Spitty and know you are deeply mourned by your loving family and furriends.

Since Mummy has to rest before going to caterwauling purractice tonight (yes, really! Not zoomily!), this is going to be a short post. In any case, I, Queen Trixie, Furrst of My Name, Empurress of Jerusalem, Israel and the Entire Middle East, Queen of Hearts, Guardian of the Boudoir and Alpha Kitty Extraordinare, want to get back to my Royal Snoozing. I have to report that I was furry rudely awakened from a Snooze yesterday, when Mummy slipped on a rug, fell back on the sofa and almost sat on Me!!! I had a Narrow Escape from being Squished! Mummy was furry, furry contrite (and so She should be), but I see I shall have to be furry careful from now on. Of course, She didn't mean to do it, but clearly, accidents can happen!!!

I fur-gave her, of course, and (after some purrfectly understandable hesitation), came and snuggled with her under the duvet when She retired for the night. Shimshi came too and sat on top of her, to anchor her down and prevent any fur-ther such Accidents! Caspurr, therefore, had the entire sofa to himself.

Now, as you will have gathered, it is My Turn to repurresent the J-Cats in this week's Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies Blog Hops, hosted (respectively) by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie and the Deliciously Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

Caturday comes before Sunday, but I will start with my Selfie, as I used the same picture for my Caturday Art, and I want you to see the Original Photo furrst.

Here it is:

See the play of the late afternoon sunlight, coming through the shutters, and bathing my lovely black furs.

For my Caturday Art, Mummy suggested doing something that would emphasise the fact that I am, in fact, a Smoky Black Kitty (with white roots and furs underlying the glossy black of my overcoat). So We chose LunaPic's Smoky Art effect at 50%, together with one of their simple and elegant frames:

And here are the Blog Hop Badges:

Here in Israel, We are moving today into Stage 3 of the Opening Up of the Economeow, now that more than half of the population has received at least one dose of the vaccine. That means schools can re-open at all levels, shopping malls can open, gatherings of up to 20 people are purr-mitted indoors, and up to 50 out-of-doors and many other things - some of them contingent upon people presenting a Green Pass at the entrance, showing that they have either been vaccinated with both doses, or that they have had the Evil Coronavirus and recovered. But they must still wear face-masks and keep 2 metres apart from other people.

And that is what We want to remind you, too. We aren't out of the woods yet. There are still many people who have not yet been vaccinated, people who CANNOT be vaccinated, for medical reasons, as well as people who refuse to be vaccinated or who are more scared to be vaccinated than they are of the Evil Virus. So, for the time being, it is impawtant to carry on Social Distancing, wearing face-masks, and WASHING YOUR PAWS.

And now, let's start Blog Hopping!

Keep well. Keep safe. We love you all!
