Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies in Memory of Angel Gingi

Greetings, Effurryone!

For the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie and for the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the amazing Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet, this week We are honouring yet another new Angel, who was called away unexpectedly to the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday, January 23rd.

Gingi was only three years old and had been raised from kittenhood by Mummy's non-blogging friend, Ms. F. whom Mummy mentioned a few weeks ago.
As Mummy wrote then, Ms. F. has been trapped in Switzerland for almost a year, due to health problems and the Evil Coronavirus Pandemic.

Ms. F.'s furbabies are being cared for by Ms. I. Until Friday January 22nd, Gingi seemed to be purrfectly alright, although according to what Ms. F. told Mummy, the v-e-t said he had apparently been born with a heart defect. When Ms. I. looked for him to feed and pet him on Saturday, she couldn't find him at furrst, but when she went to look for him, it was too late. He had already departed for the Bridge. It is terribly sad to know Gingi was alone when the Great Cat in the Sky called him home - but We believe that at least he had his fursibs with him. And it is a comfort to know that in the three years he had on this earth, after he was adopted off the streets by Ms. F. (when he was a furry little kitten), he knew nothing but Love and Happiness.  So many helpless, homeless kitties, born and bred on the streets, never know even that!

Here are a few more pictures of Gingi, that Ms. F. sent to Mummy. In the furrst one, you can see what a furry good and loving brofur he was to his fursibs:

We have chosen the furrst picture, of Gingi with one of his beloved fursibs, for Our Caturday Art this week. We used two art effects from Mummy's favourite LunaPic website.

This one was made using the Gauguin art effect, which enhances the gingeriness for which Gingi was named:

And for this one, We used the more delicate Frida art effect:

This one, on the other paw, emphasises Gingi's tabbiness.

Which one do you prefurr?

We are sorry Our Posts have been so sad lately.
We want to end on a pawsitive note, so We will just mention that Mummy has had her second anti-COVID jab and that here in Israel, three million people (about a third of the pawpulation) have already been vaccinated.

Now, before We start blog hopping and visiting Our Furriends, here are the blog hop badges:

We want to wish you all, in spite of the Bad Things that are happening in the World, a Good Week - Shavua Tov.  You and Your Humans can help to make it so by continuing to observe the Rules - Social Distancing, Wearing Facemasks, and Most Impawtant of All: KEEP WASHING YOUR PAWS.

Be well. Be safe. We love you all.

Sweet Shimshi's Sunny Sunday Selfies and Caturday Art

 Hallo again, Effurrybuddies!

The Mighty Shimshon here, a.k.a. the Little Purrince, Furrst of My Name, Master of the Queen's Mischiefs and Captain of the Guard.

But you can call me Shimshi.

Furrst of all, on behalf of the J-Cats and Our Mummy, Lady Shimona, let Me wish you all Shavua Tov (a Good Week).

It is a lovely, sunny (but cold) day - one of many - and, in fact, Fursday is Tu b'Shvat, the New Year for Trees, which, although it falls deep in the winter, is seen by many as a herald of Spring. It is usually celebrated here in Israel by the planting of many trees. Schools often have special tree-planting ceremonies. That will not be pawsible this year, because of the Evil Coronavirus - but two and a half million Israelis have already been vaccinated, so maybe next year...

Anyway, to get back to matters in paw - this week, it is My Turn to repurresent the J-Cats in the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and in the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

This is my Sunday Selfie, in which I am basking in one of the many sunpuddles with which We have been blessed this past Week (and are still enjoying).

This Pawtrait was artified, with the help of Mummy's Opposable Thumbs, using Art Effects from LunaPic.  I wasn't sure whether I prefurred the BlueSwirl Effect, at 65%:

or the Grey Art Effect, at  70%:

So, in the end, We decided not to decide (mol) and to hang them all in one of the PhotoFunia Art Galleries:

That way, Art Connoisseurs can make up their own minds.

Tell Us which one YOU like best!

Now, here are the Blog Hop badges:

As usual, before We set out on our blog-hopping tour, We would remind you all that the Evil Virus is not yet vanquished, so We must still make sure that you and your Humans stay safe by getting vaccinated as soon as pawsible, continuing to wear face-masks (such a little thing, but so impawtant), avoiding mass gatherings, Social Distancing - and, most impawtant of all:  WASHING YOUR PAWS FURREQUENTLY (something which must be obvious to Cats and their Humans).

That's all for now.

Be well. Be safe. We love you.

Caspurr the Cat Burglar: Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies

Hallo again, Effurryone!

I, Caspurr the Courageous, Furrst of My Name, Commander-in-Chief of the Impurrial Forces and King of the Tigger-Tabbies, am here on behalf of the J-Cats to wish you all Shavua Tov (a Good Week)!

Mummy says I should rightly be called Caspurr the Crafty. MOL. I am crafty. I am Clever. I am - Caspurr, the Caspicacious, King of the Cat Burglars!

How did this come about, I hear you asking. Well, I will tell you.

As you know, Trixie sometimes leaves as much as half her noms, and then goes wandering off, sometimes even indulging in a nap - and then expects to go back to her food bowl and find effurrything as she left it.
But Shimshi and I think that this constitutes Abandonment. if you leave it, you lose it. So Mummy got into the habit of shutting the door of the Guest Kitty Room, where Trixie has her Private Dining Room, until Her Majesty the Empurress has finished all her noms.  That way, She thought She could prevent Shimshi and Me from what She calls "stealing" Trixie's noms.

No way, We say.

Closed doors are no obstacle to Us - well, not to Me, at least!

This picture, as you have no doubt guessed, is Our Entry in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by Our Dear Furriends, the Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet. Here is their Badge:

We are also purrticipating, as always, in the Caturday Art Blog Hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie.  Here is their Badge:

For the Artification, We used a combination of LunaPic's Harsh Light filter, and Dark Art effect (because, in addition to my many other Skills, I am also a Master of the Dark Arts - hehehe) - and here is the result:

And here is a Puzzle!

Before We start blog hopping, here is a short update on the state of the Pandemic in Our Little Corner of the World.

About 2 million humans have already had their first dose of the vaccine and from today, over 45s can now be vaccinated.  Mummy has an appointment next week for her Second Dose.
That is the Good News. On the Other Paw - it takes time for the vaccinations to have their effect on "The Curve" and meanwhile, there are more than a thousand people in Intensive Care, the rate of Pawsitive results to Tests purrformed over the weekend was about 7.6 purr cent - and nearly four thousand Israelis have flown away to the Humans' Rainbow Bridge after contracting the disease. So this isn't the End. It isn't even the Beginning of the End. It might, however, be the End of the Beginning. Or maybe the Beginning of the Middle. Or maybe just a Muddle?

Oh, dear! We are getting Confused.  We had better just get on with the Blog Hopping.  Before We go, We would remind you all that it is impawtant still to wear facemasks, carry on Social Distancing - and above all, WASH YOUR PAWS!

Be well! Be safe! We love you!

Trixie's Colourful Caturday Art and Sad Sunday Selfies

Hallo again, Effurrybody!

It seems there is no end to the stream of furriends flying away to the Rainbow Bridge. This time, it is sweet, beautiful Zoey, of the Island Cats, who was called Home by the Great Cat in the Sky last Wednesday. It was so unexpected and We were completely shocked to read such heartbreaking news!
Why are there so many terrible things happening? Isn't the Evil Coronavirus Pandemic bad enough?

So my Selfie this week, for the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop hosted by our Dear Furriends, the Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet,  is rather a sad one. I was thinking about Zoey when this picture was snapped, as well as the many other furriends who have been taken from us of late:

As you know, We only post on Sundays, so We are a day late with Our Caturday Art. We used the Stained Glass effect from LunaPic at 75% to make the above photo a little less sad for our entry in the Caturday Art Blog Hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie:

When We have the Sads, We try furry hard to think of something pawsitive to counter the Bad Thoughts.  Mummy says you can always find something, however small and seemingly insignificant. We tried - but not even the discovery of a toy mousie believed to be purr-manently lost, under the sofa, or a delivery from the Pet Food Shop was any help.

Mummy tried too - but her Thoughts kept turning to the skyrocketing numbers of people sick with the Evil Coronavirus, here in Israel and all over the World. And the fact that We are once again (for the THIRD time) in Full Lockdown. She did, however, think of One Little Thing. Now that the Vaccine has arrived, and Humans can go and get stabbed, to be purr-tected against the Virus, almost 20 Purr Cent of the Israeli population has already done so! That's about 1.8 million Humans who have had their furrst dose of the vaccine and will soon be receiving the second and final dose. Mummy also went to the Humans' Stabby Place last week and got vaccinated. And in case you or your Humans were wondering - She can still see her reflection in the Mirror, nothing happens to her when She goes out in the Sun - and She hasn't developed an Aversion to Garlic - more's the Pity (mol, mol, mol).
Hmm - maybe that's not such a "Little" Thing, after all!

It is time for Us to start Blog Hopping now, and before We do, We want to remind you that although the Vaccine is here, we're not out of the woods yet!  Make sure your Humans continue to wear their face-masks and practice Social Distancing - and remember! It's up to you to set them a Good Example by Washing Your Paws furrequently.

Now, here are the Blog Hop badges:

Wishing you all Shavua Tov (a Good Week) - and Off We Go!

Caturday Art and Sunday Guest Selfies to Honour a New Angel

 Hallo again, Effurrybuddies.

Our first post of 2021, like our last post of 2020, is going to be dedicated to commemorating another Angel Kitty.

This is Pizi, who received her Angel's Wings on Mew Year's Eve.

Pizi's Human was a non-blogging friend of Mummy's - Ms. F.  Effur since Mummy has known Ms. F., she has shared her home in Jerusalem with six or seven kitties. Not only that, but like Mummy, she also used to feed homeless kitties in her street effurry day.

In the Spring of 2020, Ms. F. travelled for what was supposed to be a short visit to her native Switzerland, to visit her own Mummy. Naturally, she took thought, as always, for her kitties and made sure they would be looked after till her return by a lady who has worked for her for many years and who knows all the kitties purrsonally.

And then came the Evil Coronavirus and made it impawsible for her fly home and be with her kitties. For months now, her own health issues and the pandemic have kept her trapped in Switzerland, while her furbabies have been faithfully cared for by Ms. I.

Beautiful Pizi was Ms. F.'s most senior ladycat. She was 18 years old when the Great Cat in the Sky called her home for a well-deserved rest. Ms. I., who has been looking after her all these months, was with her when she closed her eyes for the last time, so Pizi was not alone - but it must have been furry hard for Ms. F. to know that she could not be there to say goodbye to her sweet furbaby.

In tribute to Pizi, and because Ms. F. doesn't have her own blog, We are featuring her Selfie today as Our Honorary Repurrasentative on the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by the dear Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet and on the Caturday Art Blog Hop, hosted by the beauteous Athena and her HuMum, Marie.

We used the Beauty filter from LunaPic, at 60%. We then framed the picture and hung it in the Louvre, with the assistance of PhotoFunia.

If you would like to leave messages of condolence for Pizi's Human, Ms. F., you can do so here. Mummy purromises to pass them on to her.

Now it is time to start blog hopping. Here are the blog hop badges:

Before We go, We want to wish you all Shavua Tov (A Good Week), and a Happy Mew Year for 2021. And to remind you and your humans that to make sure this year really is better than the last one, you need to keep practising Social Distancing, wear your facemasks and Wash Your Paws as often as you can.

Be Well. Be Safe.
