Love Story from the Holy Land

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-a-n-i-n-e-s and Humans too)!

Today, I have something Very Important to say to you all - and I want to thank June Buggie on Rumpydog's blog for bringing this matter to My attention.
What I want to talk about, Fellow Felines (and C-a-n-i-n-e-s and Humans) is (deep breath) - Animal Testing. It is absolutely astounding that in this day and age, with so many a-l-t-e-r-n-a-t-i-v-e-s (isn't that a lovely big word, Fellow Felines etc.?) available, there are still cosmetics companies that test their products on poor, defenceless animals!!!

Mummy says to tell all your Human Mummies (and Daddies) that there is a cosmetics company here in Israel called AHAVA that never tests its (excellent) products on animals (and, as far as she knows, doesn't use animal products either, only minerals from the Dead Sea). Not only that, Fellow Felines (etc.), AHAVA is also committed to the preservation of the e-n-v-i-r-o-n-m-e-n-t (another big word!), especially water conservation.

Legend has it that Cleopatra who, my Human says, was famous for her beauty, had her own personal spa there. You remember Cleopatra, don't you, kitties? She was Queen of Egypt - where Cats were properly venerated, as divinities.
Oh, and one last thing, Fellow Felines (and C-a-n-i-n-e-s and Humans too). In Hebrew, AHAVA means "Love".

Countdown

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-a-n-i-n-e-s and Humans too)!

We are so excited, my Human and I. Well, I am, anyway. In just six weeks, she will be starting two months paid leave purr-rior to her retirement. That means she will be able to spend all day and every day with Moi, attending to my needs and pampering Me. How happy She must be!

Of course, she has a few plans of her own. She says she's going to learn a couple of fur-eign languages - like Italian and Welsh. And she's thinking of learning to play a musical instrument, maybe the clarinet. Well, that's fine with Me, as long as she doesn't forget her duties, such as feeding Me five times a day, petting Me and keeping Me amused. I've been feeling rather lonely since Pixie flew away to the Bridge, but now I will have company around the clock. Of course, I shall allow her some time off to purr-sue her own activities. I'm a very considerate employer and, after so many years of faithful service, she has earned a little time for herself, don't you agree, Kitties?

Six weeks - that's 42 days, Fellow Felines. I can hardly wait...

Shabbat Shalom to you all. Have a lovely weekend!

PS. I almost forgot - see what a lovely picture Mummy took of me. And without waking me up with the flashy box either!

Pesach

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-a-n-i-n-e-s and Humans too)!

My Human has been working very hard to make Our Home ready for Pesach. It makes life rather difficult for a kitty who only wants to relax and sleep, because everytime I settle down somewhere and make Myself comfortable, there She and her cleaning lady are, with mops and pails and brooms and Sucky Monsters.  However, we're more or less over the worst now and all She has left to do now (so She says) is to make the fruit salad and the charoseth.

The Bad News is that there'll be no bread in the house for a whole week - so, no chance of tasty little pieces of challah, topped with cottage cheese, which I love so much. Matza is no food for a Pussycat! Mummy gave me some cottage cheese on its own, directly into my bowl. But I like challah. Still, with the enormous Feast that the Humans will be having tonight, there's bound to be a substantial Kitty Bag for Moi, I should think...

Chag Sameach, everyone!

Possum the MagnifiCat

PS. Mummy just reminded me that some of you celebrate Easter instead. So, enjoy your chocolate eggs (yummy!) and please save some for Me to eat after Pesach...Happy Holidays to all of you, whichever festival it is you are celebrating!
