Mournful Messi

Hallo again, Effurrybody!

Furrst of all, We want to thank all those who visited Us during this past week, and left kind words of comfort about Grandpaw, after he crossed his Rainbow Bridge.

The week of the shiva, immediately following the funeral, was especially hard for Our Woofie Uncle, Messi. Not only was the house full of strangers, people who, in his eyes, were not supposed to be there, but his Daddy, who was always there, was no longer there - and nobody could explain to him WHY. Mummy said you could see, by his drooping tail, that he was both unhappy and scared.

Messi loved Grandpaw furry much, and Grandpaw loved Messi. Mummy says that Grandpaw - her own beloved Daddy - always used to make up funny songs, in which he replaced the words of existing songs with new lyrics. She remembers him doing this since She was a little girl - and Grandpaw carried on doing it right up till the End.

One song, which he used to sing to the tune of the Paul Robeson favourite, Trees, started off with the line: "I think that I shall never see, A canine lovely as Messi".

This week, too, We are going to let Uncle Messi repurresent Our Extended Family in the weekend blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet. He has no blog of his own, and although We all have the Sads, it is harder still for Messi, because he was Grandpaw's constant companion.

See those sad eyes:

The picture above, and the one following, were taken at the shiva. Mummy artified the second one with the help of LunaPic, using a mixture of filters and art effects, including Surreal Painting and Sadness and a few others, but She can't remember in which order - and, in any case, her own eyes were leaking so much that her vision was all blurry.

As you know, Mummy has her own blog (details in the sidebar), and She intends to write about Grandpaw later this week. In the meantime, if any of you or your Humans are interested, you can read Grandpaw's autobiography, which we mentioned last week. He had a furry long and eventful life.

Next week, We hope to return to regular posting, where We take turns in repurresenting the J-Cats in the blog hops. Meanwhile, here are the blog hop badges:

Till next time, then.

Be Well. Be safe. We love you all.

Caturday Art and Sunday Guest Selfie With Uncle Messi

Hallo again, Effurrybuddies!

This week, We have a furry special guest - Our Woofie Uncle, Messi.

We have featured Uncle Messi several times before, as you will no doubt remember. His Humans just happen to be Our Grandpaw and Step-Grandma, which is how We happen to have an Uncle who is a Woofie (mol)!

We think Messi is furry handsome.
Well, naturally, he would be - he is Our Uncle, after all!!!
Mummy thinks he must have some feline DNA, judging by the way he wants to go out into the patio-garden, then in again, then out again, then in again, then out again, then in - effurry few seconds (mol).

Messi is Our Guest Repurresentative in this weekend's bloggie hops - the Caturday Art Blog Hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by the oh-so deliciously Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

Here are the blog hop badges:

This week's art was created using LunaPic's Grey filter at 65%, overlaid with Quirky (which We don't believe We have used before) at 70%.

The Israel Museum is currently displaying the rough sketches for this pawtrait, which will eventually be framed and loaned to the National Gallery in London, before setting out on a world tour of the world's greatest art galleries.

Kitties, before We set out on this week's blog hops, We want to ask you to put your paws together and purray for all the furries and other anipals caught up in the fighting in the Ukraine. It is true that many of them have been saved by their Humans, who, when able to take only a few of their Most Precious Possessions with them, left effurrything else so as to leave room for their beloved pets. But many others have been abandoned. We have heard of people staying behind and refusing to run away, so as to look after kitties and woofies in shelters.  And We have also heard that many countries opening their borders to the refugees have waived the requirement for pet passports and other veterinary documentation. That is something, at least - but it is all so furry sad, for the furries and for the Humans alike...

It almost makes one forget the Evil Mutant Ninja Coronavirus, doesn't it? And, indeed, the many countries now welcoming the Ukrainian refugees are, thankfully, not demanding proof of vaccination!

However, those of Us living in more peaceful zones need to make sure that Our Humans continue to exercise Due Caution.

Be well. Be safe. We love you all.

Messi Mischiefs

Hallo, Effurrybuddies!

It's Me here again, the Mighty Shimshon (aka Shimshi), also known as The Little Purrince!

How are you all? Are you having horrid, cold weather with water falling out of the sky, like We are? In fact, earlier this meouwning, there were tiny, hard, cold, icy pellets falling down as well! We don't like that - but at least, We don't have to go out in it. We have plenty of Hard Work to do here indoors, without getting our beautiful furs wet.

And speaking of Hard Work - I want you to know that I have been taking My Duties as Master of the Queen's Mischiefs furry, furry seriously. In fact, I often use the Transporter Tunnel to visit and consult with other Mischief-Makers, for a furr-uitful exchange of ideas.

And I must say,  Uncle Messi the Woofie has some really good ones. I tell you, that Woofie must have Feline Genes in him somewhere (mol)! How else could he have come up with something like This?

Grandpa and Step-Grandma went out to lunch with some friends and Messi got bored, or angry at being left alone at home, so he shredded effurrything that had been left on the coffee table - letters, bills and a parcel of books Grandpa and Step-Grandma's friends had brought them!

I tell you, anipals - that Woofie is an Inspurration (mol).

Now I am must go and snoopervise while Mummy prepurrs Her, Our, The Shabbat Meal. Have a great and Mischief-filled weekend, all of you.

Shabbat Shalom from All of Us.
