Greetings, Effurrybuddies!
We hope you all had a wonderful Meowloween, and are now busy prepurring for Guy Fawkes Night (if you are in the UK) or Thanksgiving (if you are in the USA), or Hanukkah (if you are Mewish).
Mummy has finished her Cavalleria Rusticana/Pagliacci opurra project, and has now embarked on a new endeavour - another Opurra, with another Company. This time, it's The Magic Flute, to be purrformed in December. Meanwhile, you'll neffur guess what happened to her at the purrformance in Kiryat Motzkin last week!
A stray kitty got in backstage and effurryone thought it was cute, but it couldn't be allowed to stay there because it was rummaging amongst the props, maybe hoping to find food. So one of the girls picked it up and took it outside. It was furry friendly, and the next time Mummy saw it was in the marquee they had set up in the courtyard to serve as a Green Room for the choir, because there were so many of them. It stretched itself out over a couple of chairs and sat there looking so adorable that Mummy went over to pet it and give it head scritches. So far, so good. The kitty appeared to be contented and even rolled over, exposing its tummy. That's when Mummy made a Fatal Error and Overstepped a Boundary. She tried to stroke its tummy. The kitty suddenly grabbed her hand with its front paws and also with its teeth. Mummy got scratched (not badly, it must be said) but She wasn't sure whether or not the kitty's teeth actually penetrated the skin. We must confess, We often do this to Her in play. But this was a strange kitty. Apparently, he doesn't belong to anyone at the theatre, but he hangs around there effurry day. A couple of weeks ago, he scratched the theatre technician when the latter tried to drive him away. So - NOT an unprovoked attack, but Mummy was worried because there has been a rise in cases of rabies in the north of the country. So to be on the safe side, she went to the local Ministry of Health office here in Jerusalem, and because there doesn't seem to be any way of trapping and monitoring the stray kitty (the technician said he reported the case to the Haifa District Veterinary Service two weeks ago but they did nothing), although the chances of this purrticular kitty being infected are about 99 to 1, they recommended that Mummy have an anti-tetanus shot and a series of four anti-rabies shots!!! Mummy decided that the chances of getting rabies might be 99 to 1, but if the cat were to be infected, the fatality rate is 100%. SO - she had the shots.
Maybe next time She will think twice before cheating on Us with strange cats!
And now, it is time for Me, the Mighty Shimshon (Shimshi for short) to lead My Fellow J-Cats on the weekend blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Deliciously and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.
Furrst of all, here is My Selfie, which, like all the Art this week, was framed with the assistance of LunaPic.
We made three artifications, all with GFX effects from BeFunky. Here is the furrst, which uses the Modern Gouache effect:
Artification no. #2 uses the Impressionist Soft effect:
And finally, a furry Howl O'Weeny effect was achieved with Vector Painting. Just look at My Eyes in this one (mol)! Really demonish, right?
Which one do you like best? Let Us know in the Comments section below.
Now, here are the blog hop badges.
And all that's left to do now is to remind you that, COD-willing, We will be back here again next week, same Cat Time, same Cat Channel. Meanwhile, be safe. Be well. We love you all!
