Mummy's Scary Night Plus Trixie in Springtime - Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies

Greetings, Effurrybody! How are you all? It has certainly been an eventful few days here - starting with Mummy's Scary Episode the night before the Seder (last Tuesday night)! She got up to go to the bathroom and was suddenly overtaken by a dreadful Dizzy Spell. At furrst, She thought maybe She was having a Stroke, but the thought that was uppermost in Her Mind was - what if there is a missile attack right now? There was NO Way she could have made it down to the shelter in that condition. If She had tried, She would purrobably have fallen down the stairs and broken her neck. Fortunately, there was no such necessity. As it is, She lost her balance and fell on the floor on her left side, giving herself a nasty bruise on her thigh and a couple more on her arm, which hit the handle of the shower door on the way down. Somehow, She managed to crawl back to bed, where she spoke to Uncle D. on the phone (no slurring of speech) and tested her coordination (no loss of coordination). This has happened to Mummy a couple of times before, notably about four years ago when She went to the Opurra and ended up spending most of the night in ER at Ichilov Hospital. That was when She was diagnosed as having Atrial Fibrillation, but the Heart Specialist She consulted after that was not convinced that the episode was a result of the AF. She purrobably did suffer a sudden drop in Blood Pressure, but it seems that in 9 out of 10 such cases, they never find out the specific cause of such a drop!

At all events, She seems to be more or less okay now, although She says She feels rather fragile - plus, it still hurts her to sit down. It didn't stop her cooking most of the Seder feast, although Auntie N. helped a lot by making the roast potatoes, as well as the kneidlach (matza dumplings). They had chick-hen, but We didn't get any because Mummy cooked it with a LOT of garlic, which is furry, furry bad indeed for kitties! Anyway, Mummy tried to trick Us and shut Us in the bedroom during the meal. My brofurs fell for it, but I, Queen Trixie, was too cleffur for her and I got to listen to the whole seder service from my seat under the table. I was furry good, too. Not once did I venture out and demand Food or Attention! And I We have been snuggling with Mummy a lot, because I We know that makes her feel better.

Now, it is time to take part in the weekend blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Deliciously and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

So, here is My Selfie. I know you are going to absolutely LOVE this one. I dare you not to (mol)!

The frame - as well as the artwork this week - was created with the help of LunaPic. It features the Israeli flag, as always, lions, in reference to Opurration Lion's Roar, and spring flowers, in deference to the Season.

Here is the furrst artification, using Landscape at 60%:

Artification no.#2 uses a combination of two furry different effects - Grey, at 62%, followed by Psychedelic at 22%:

Finally, We used one of Our Favourite filters - Dark, at 43%, with an overlay of the much more colourful Candy at 23%:

Do let Us know in the comments section below, which one you like best.

Now, We have a couple of Impawtant Dates coming up. Wednesday, April 8th, is Mummy's Birthday. And next Shabbat, April 11th, is Caspurr's Gotcha Day. We shall have a combined pawty for the two of them up in the Enchanted Forest, on Wednesday afternoon at 6 pm, Israel Time. You are all invited, of course and, as always, the coordinates will be transmitted directly to your Transportation Devices.

Oh! And We have just realised - it was exactly 15 years ago, on April 2nd 2011, that this blog furrst saw the Light of Day! We shall be celebrating that too, of course!

Last, but definitely not least, We want to wish all of you who are celebrating it today, a Furry Happy Easter!

Now, here are the blog hop badges:

That's all for now, Dear Furriends. COD-willing, We shall be back here again next week, same Cat Time, same Cat Channel. Till then, be safe. Be well. We love you all.

Hope Mummy feels much better now. Those things are scary. My brother gets blood pressure drops but now he's on medicines for AF and they seem to have stopped. Sending purrs.

What a cute tongue! I’m sorry that Mummy had a bad dizzy spell. She doesn’t need that trouble on top of everything else. I wound up in the emergency room last summer from dizziness and loss of balance. My blood pressure was going up and down and I was dehydrated. I had to increase my salt intake, which seemed weird.

Tell Mummy to take care of herself, and sometimes that means asking for help or canceling plans. Hugs to all!

Queen Trixie, we are sending a chorus of purrs for your Mom to feel better! We are so sorry to hear of that episode, and that she fell! We do indeed love your selfie! The original is marvelous and we love the art versions too! The second artification is a definite favorite this time, but we do love them all!

I am glad your Mummy is feeling better after that scary event. Maybe it is because of all the stress you are having to live through. I hope it doesn't happen again.
That is a lovely selfie, and Landscape is my favourite. You have a cute tongue.

I hope your mummy is OK and that doesn't happen again. Happy Birthday to her and Happy Gotcha Day to Caspurr. You are a cutie. I like all the effects, especially the 3rd one down. XO

It sounds like your Mummy has occasional vasovagal syncope, a sudden drop in blood pressure for no reason they can figure out, especially when getting up after being seated or lying down. It mostly means you stand up so fast, your body can't compensate for its need to pump the blood harder and faster to give your muscles what they need to stand, so you go down, and sometimes full on faint.

It's best to not try to hop up out of bed, or out of a chair, especially if you've been sleeping or are very relaxed. Sit first, adjust, then stand slowly. Of course, if you are having one of those warnings and need to move to shelter, it's hard to do so, but try to be a little slower jumping up so you don't end up on the floor instead.

The selfie is excellent, I like it a great deal and enjoyed the artworks.

I've told Link Linker the Stinker about the party and he says he'll be there or be square (he's been hanging around old fogeys like me too long).

I am praying for the peace of Jerusalem.

Such a lovely selfie, Trixie!

That is so scary about what Mummy experienced. We are glad she is okay! We are sending love and healing purrs and prayers that she won't have any more such episodes. Chad Pesach Sameach, and we will see you Wednesday to celebrate Mummy and Caspurr.

That was a scary incident, resulting in big ouchies! Good to know you are healing, slowly maybe but still you will get there.
Meesy Mimi has good advice...
I got out of bed once and the room spun so much, I hit the dresser right by the bed...and and had to go downstairs by sitting on them and lowering myself one step at a time. Must have been quite the sight, LOL! At least it was only bad for a few hours, the doc said it was a reaction to the chemo I was getting at that time...(2006/7).
We sure hope that won't happen to your Mommy again, being dizzy is a horrible feeling.
Trixie, we think you were imagining all the yummy things that your human family members were going to be having!

I pray that all your celebrations won't get interrupted by sirens...and that you all stay well and safe.

Your selfies are wonderful this week, but we have to choose the second art piece as our fav, though the other two are tied very closely behind.
Oh my, what a time to have a relapse. Maybe the stress of it all brought it on? We do hope that this all stops very soon and normality and peace reign supreme across the land. Maybe another foreign trip would help calm the nerves and improve the health.
Whatever the week brings, may your lives be calm, and your celebrations wonderful and full of joy, fun and fine food and friendship.
ERin
PS Happy B Day to your staff too in advance.

We know we are very late getting here, but happy belated congratulations on 15 years of blogging. That is a major accomplishment. We must agree that your selfie is first rate. We believe that art #2 is our favorite. We are particularly sorry about your mom's fall. Our mom knows just how much those hurt, as her neuro-muscular disease causes her to have many. We do hope she is much, much better by now. Thanks for hopping last week. We are off to comment on this week's post.
