Sleepy Selfie

Hallo there, Effurryone!

Guess whose turn it is to star in this week's Sunday Snoozies Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by the Kitties Blue and their Human, Janet!

That's right! You got it in one!

ME! The one and only Ser Caspurr the Conqueror, Furrst of His Name, King of the Tigger-Tabbies, Purrtector of the Realm, Breaker of Coffee Cups, Commander-in-Chief of the Impurrial Forces.

In this photo, I may look as if I am sleeping, but don't be fooled! I am only purr-tending. I am awake on effurry count and I know EXACTLY what is going on around me!

And what I know is, Mummy is EXCEEDINGLY PUT OUT by the fact that the TV is on the blink and she can't get hold of Customer Services! However, She says it could have been worse. It could have happened last week and then She would have missed the Last Episode of Game of Thrones, which is a TV series lots and lots of Humans seem to be addicted to. We cannot understand why. After all, there aren't any Cats in it - only Dragons and Dire Wolves!

WE say, if the TV isn't working, that's all to the good. She will have more time to play with Us (mol).

Anyway, it is now time to join the Blog Hop - not before wishing you all Shavua Tov (a Good Week).

Furrst of all, the Badge:

And away We go:

Wear Orange For Crockett

Hallo there, Effurryone.

Today, We are dedicating a post to a sweet kitty whom, alas,  We scarcely knew - Crockett of the Lone Star Cats, who had a fatal accident last week and as a result, had to leave for the Rainbow Bridge far, far too soon. He was only five years old and was about to have celebrated his 5th Gotcha Day yesterday but it was not to be, and now, he has gone away to live with the Great Cat in the Sky.

We have been thinking a great deal about the many sweet kitties who have gone to the Bridge lately - some of them kitties we knew well, others whom We didn't know at all, but many of them kitties who have visited Our blog and whose blogs We have visited, briefly, meaning to leave a comment when We had more time, kitties whom We have come across on blog hops and told ourselves that they seem like nice, interesting Felines whom We would like to get to know propurrly some time - next week, or the week after, maybe.

And then, suddenly, there is no time. Time has run out and it's Too Late and all We can do is grieve that We never got to know them.

So We have made a purromise to ourselves never again to put off making furriends with kitties whom We meet by chance on the Blogosphere, so that We never again have to say: "Oh, he/she sounds like such a sweet little kitty. If only We had had the oppurrtunity to know him/her".

And to make sure We remember that Vow, We are honouring Crockett's memory by taking part in the blog hop "Wear Orange for Crockett". We aren't exactly wearing orange, but Mummy has turned a group picture of Us all orange and added an orange frame, and We hope Crockett's family will understand and know that We are truly sorry for their loss.

Fly free, sweet Crockett.  We wish We had known you better. We know you were greatly loved, not just by your Family but by many here in the Blogosphere who have paid tribute to you. Rest in Peace.

Trixie's Moody Sunday Selfie

Right! That's enough! I, Queen Trixie, Empurress of Jerusalem, Israel and the Entire Middle East, Guardian of the Boudoir, Alpha Kitty Extraordinaire, am tired of being shunted aside whenever one of the mancats has a birthday or a Gotcha Day, or whateffur!!!

It is My Turn to be the Sunday Selfie Star and this time, I am not giving up My Turn for anyone!

I have a truly beautiful and miaouwjestic selfie for my admirers this time - but furrst, I want to share with you something that is terribly worrying for Me and for All of Us.

You may have heard on the news about what is happening in the south of Israel, how Bad Humans in the Gaza Strip have fired over 430 rocket-boomies at Israel in the last 24 hours. One of them landed on a house in Ashkelon, where Mummy's auntie lives, and killed a man who lived there. Mummy's auntie is 90 years old and she doesn't have a boomie-shelter or a Secure Room and it's furry scary to think about her trying to run for cover when the sirens go off, since she finds it difficult even to walk!

Mummy's auntie has a house with a big garden and she feeds a lot of homeless kitties who live in the neighbourhood. What do all those kitties do when there is a boomie attack? They don't understand what's going on. They don't know that when the siren goes off, they must take shelter. And even if they did - where could they take shelter? Where could they run to?  They must be so furrightened!

So that's why I am looking a bit moody in my selfie.

Can you tell from the picture how worried I am?

Before We go, We would like to ask you to purray for the safety of all the kitties and humans affected by the boomies down in the south. We wish them - and you - a Good Week. Shavua Tov.

And now - let's blog hop:

Birthdays and Festivals

Hallo, Effurrybuddies!

This is Me here, the Mighty Shimshon (Shimshi for short) a.k.a. The Little Purrince, Captain of the Impurrial Guard and Master of the Queen's Mischiefs.

I bet you don't know what yesterday was! That's because Our Petcretary was so busy with her Pessach (Passover) prepurrations, She didn't have time to help Me write a post and tell you all about My Birthday! Such chutzpah! It's so hard to find good staff nowadays, isn't it?

Yesterday, I was 5 years old! But - as usual - the celebrations will be postponed till the weekend. Tomorrow night, We will all stuff ourselves at the Seder (and I do hope Mummy remembers to bring Us a kitty bag), and on Shabbat (Caturday) afternoon, We will have My Birthday Pawty, to which all my Anipals are invited.

Meanwhile, We wish all of you who celebrate Pessach Chag Sameach, and to those of you who celebrate Easter, Happy Easter!

We love you all!!!

Caturday Gotcha Day Art

Greetings, Effurryone!

Today is really Trixie's turn to star in the Caturday Art Blog Hop hosted by the beautiful and wise Athena and her Human, Marie, but since Thursday was my Gotcha Day, she furry generously gave up her place to Me, Caspurr, King of the Tigger-Tabbies. She is such a good sisfur, and when I was gotcha-ed, six years ago, she taught me effurrything that a little kitten needed to know! Sometimes, I don't show my appurreciation propurrly, but I want to take this oppurrtunity to say "thank you, Trixie". And, of course, a huge "thank you" to Mummy!

Thank you, Caspurr, for honouring My Our humble abode with your mancatly presence - Queen Trixie and Shimona (aka Mummy).

We couldn't celebrate My Gotcha Day on Thursday, because Mummy was busy. She appeared in a concert with her Caterwauling Friends - and even had a so-low.

In fact, she has been furry busy with all sorts of things the past few weeks.  She has written about some of them in her own blog, and will try to write about more of them over the next few days - if She can find the time, because NOW, she is busy with her Pessach (Passover) cleaning!

The picture below was taken in 2014, when I had already been with Mummy and Trixie for almost a year. As you can see, it didn't take me long to feel completely at home (mol). We used LunaPic's Van Gogh effect and added a picture frame.

Now, before We join the Blog Hop, as usual, we want to wish you all Shavua Tov (a Good Week), and We hope you will also be enjoying some lovely spring weather!

Okay! Let's get ready to blog hop!

Furrst of all, here is the badge:

Let's go!

Caturday Art - The Intruder Uncle

Hallo, Effurrybuddies!

I, Shimshi (aka The Little Purrince), am furry purrturbed! On Furriday morning, I was rudely awoken from my sleep by My Human and ordered to vacate the Kitty Room Guest Room, so She could prepurr it for her brovver, who has come from England for a short visit, to attend the Wedding of their Nephew, which takes place tomorrow!

It's not right, I tell you! It's Our Room! (Well, strictly speaking, ALL the rooms in the appawtment are OURS, but this is the room Mummy officially designated the Kitty Room, when We moved to this appawtment four and a half years ago!)

This artistic rendition shows My Displeasure quite nicely, don't you think?
And I think you will all agree that My Displeasure was totally justified, when I tell you that Uncle D. is NOT a Kitty Purrson and SHOUTED at Us, just because We jumped up onto the kitchen counter to investigate the sandwich he was prepurring!!!

We are offurring this picture, for which We used LunaPic's Dark Art Effect, as Our Contribution to the Caturday Art Blog Hop hosted by the furry wise Athena and her Human, Marie.

Furrst of all, here is the badge:

Now, as is Our Infurryable Custom, before joining the Blog Hop, We want to wish you all a Good Week - Shavua Tov - and Confusion to All Intruders (mol)!

Now let's Blog Hop!

Caturday Art Selfies on Sunday or: The Purrisoner

Greetings, Effurrybuddies!

We meant to post some Caturday Art yesterday evening, but that was prevented by Mummy getting accidentally locked in the Guest Room by Caspurr.

Caspurr denies having had a paw in it (well, he would, wouldn't he?) and Mummy has no proof - in fact, it could well be her own stupid fault anyway, but - Wait a minute! You have no idea what we're miaouwing about, have you?

Well, this is what happened (as far as we can tell) ...

Mummy went into the Guest Room to get a book. The key to the door, which has one of those magnetic locks, was in the lock on the Outside, because previously, Mummy had locked the door so as to prevent the Mancats from getting at Trixie's food (Trixie being a dainty eater, who likes to nibble her food, then take a break, then go back to it).

When Mummy went in, Caspurr tried to follow her, so Mummy shut the door. When She tried to open it again, to go out, She found She could not. It was locked! Mummy thinks that either the door banged and the key moved effur so slightly, just enough to lock the door, or else Caspurr, who hung on the door handle and tried to open the door to get at Trixie's food bowl, accidentally gave the key a slight turn and thereby locked the door. Either way, Mummy found herself a purrisoner in the only room in the appawtment without a telephone! She looked in her pocket for her miaowbile phone and to her Absolute Horror, discovered She didn't have it with her!

She looked about her for something with which to pick the lock, but found nothing except a wooden carving of a stork with a long thin leg. Mummy thought that if She slid a sheet of paper under the door, and managed to push the key out of the lock, She could then slide the key back under the door towards her, like She has seen them do on TV. So She tore a page out of a magazine and slid it under the door. Furrst, she inserted the long thin wooden stork's leg through the keyhole and tried to nudge the flag end of the key and turn it sufficiently to open the lock. But that didn't work. The key fell out of the lock and hung for a couple of seconds, held by the magnet in the door. Then it fell - but either it didn't fall on the sheet of paper, or the crack under the door was too narrow or else the kitties who were huddled around the door started to play with it (Mummy has to admit, she didn't hear any sound indicative of kitties playing football keyball).

At this point, as you can well imagine, Mummy was purractically hyperventilating. She thought She would be there all night and maybe die of starvation (besides needing the Bathroom really, really badly). She did the only thing left to do. She opened the window and shouted for help with all her might, in the hope that one of the neighbours would hear her. She didn't even have all that much hope, because last night was a wild, rainy, stormy night and one on which most people would be watching TV with their windows firmly shut.

However, Mummy had the proverbial Luck of the Irish (not that She is Irish. To the best of Our Knowledge, She doesn't have a drop of Irish Blood in her). A couple of neighbours DID hear her. Feeling like Rapunzel in her Tower (except that her hair is furry short), Mummy asked them to call Grandpa and Step-Grandma, because they have a key to her appawtment and She wanted them to come and let her out. So Step-Grandma came with the key (which took her a while to find), and Mummy's neighbour climbed over the outer gate to Mummy's front porch (which was ALSO locked, and only Mummy has a key), but couldn't open the front door because the key was in the lock. Worse, the security bolt was on!

The neighbours and Step-Grandma decided there was nothing for it but to call a locksmith. That took another hour and then the locksmith had to drill the doorpost to break the security bolt, as well as remove the lock (one of those expensive security locks), in order to get into the appawtment. Once in, he quickly found the key and unlocked Mummy's Prison Cell the Guest Room door without any difficulty.

Of course, since the front door lock was now completely ruined, Mummy had to have it replaced. Total cost for Rescue and Replacement of Lock - a Thousand Shekels (mostly the cost of the new lock).

Now Mummy is afraid to lock, or even close any door in the house! And She thinks She is furry lucky to have such Good Neighbours, and even luckier that She didn't have a heart attack into the bargain. Because how would the Purramedics have reached her in time? And She also thinks it's lucky that one of Mummy's other neighbours, who saw the furrst neighbour climbing over the gate to the porch and thought for a minute that he was a burglar, realised who he was in time and didn't call the Pawlice!

So, kitties, that is why We didn't post Our Caturday Art yesterday evening as planned. Instead, We are posting it today and in tribute to St. Patrick (whom We don't celebrate usually, not being Irish, or CATholic), We have used LunaPic's Jungle effect, which has a lot of green, and given it a St. Patrick's Day border, also from LunaPic.

and also the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by the Kitties Blue and their Human, Janet - and here is their badge:

Now, We are going to try to add both blog hops to Our Page. We didn't succeed last time We tried to do this, so We'll hope some of that Luck of the Irish is still with Us and We will fare better this time. Meanwhile, We wish you all Shavua Tov (a Good Week) and Happy St. Patrick's Day - and also Happy Purim (or rather, Purr-im), which falls later this week, on Thursday.

Now, here is the Caturday Art Blog Hop:
