After The Storm

Hallo again, Effurrybuddies!

It is Me again, the Mighty Shimshon (Shimshi for short)!
It has been such an exciting week, kitties, woofies and other anipals (and Human Followers)!
We had a Snowstorm!

I have neffur seen snow before, because I was born in April and this was my furry furrst Winter. I asked Caspurr and Trixie what "snow" is and Trixie told me all about it.

It was supposed to start on Wednesday, but there wasn't really furry much snow and Trixie was furry disappointed. And I wondered what all the fuss was about. But on Furr-iday afternoon, it started again.

Trixie jumped up onto the window-sill in the living room and got all excited as the snowflakes got bigger and bigger and came down faster and faster:

Can you see Me in the picture, kitties? I wanted to help her, but I didn't see how we could possibly catch the snowflakes, since the window was closed. I'm glad it was closed, because it was furry, furry cold!

I think part of the reason Trixie was so excited was because she caught sight of this big birdie that took shelter in a palm tree right outside the window, even as the wind rose higher and higher. The rain didn't scare the birdie, nor did the hail, and it wasn't until the snow got really serious that the birdie flew away.

Afterwards, the snow came down really heavily. Caspurr decided to go to sleep and I thought I might as well join him.

We snuggled up on the chairs by the radiator, because Mummy had put on the central heating and it was nice and warm. Trixie preferred to sit on the radiator. She is furry sensitive to the cold, you see - despite her curious liking for snowflakes.

When we woke up later in the evening, the snow had settled. This is what the windowbox in Our Room looked like:

Mummy went around with her flashy box and took pictures from all the windows - which she opened, and all the Cold Air came in! Brrrrr!!!

This is the scene in the street down below:

On the other side of the apartment, it wasn't possible to see much from the big living-room window because it was too dark, but the following morning, effurrything was white and furry, furry pretty!

So, I have learned something new, kitties. I have learned all about SNOW. And I think it's furry nice to look at, as long as you're doing the looking from a nice, warm house, and have somewhere cosy to curl up and watch it from a distance. And then, when you're tired of it, you can return to the impawtant business of life - like napping (mol).

Enjoy what's left of the weekend, anipals. And have a good week.

A Winter Furrytail

Hallo, Effurrybody!

It's SNOWING!  I remember snow from earlier this year, but Caspurr has never seen it before and he was effur so excited.  Of course, he had effurry reason to be in Good Spirits, because Mummy let him sleep in Our Boudoir last night. There was a terrible storm and She said it was much too cold to shut him on the balcony, even though it's an enclosed balcony, and that it would be much, much better if Both of Us were to sleep on the Bed, next to Her.

But, as I feared, Caspurr Abused His Privileges and used the unexpected Freedom of Access to eat all My Food.

I say, Trixie, that's not fair! If you wanted it, you should have eaten it yourself. Naturally, when I saw all that food there and no-one eating it, I assumed you didn't want it and I couldn't bear the thought of all those kibbles going to waste.

Caspurr knows purrfectly well that I like to nibble my food, then go away and come back to it later for some more, rather than gobble it all down in one go as he does. Caspurr has Terrible Table Manners and what's more, he's Greedy!

Oh, don't be such a Spoil Sport, Trixie! Mummy gave you more food later, so no harm was done.

Oh, really!? No harm? Well, You should take a look at Yourself in the Mirror on Mummy's wardrobe, "Little" Brofur,  and see how fat you are getting!

Meanwhile, Mummy says I'm much too thin and need to become nice and plump for the winter, because an extra layer of fat will help keep Me warm. What's more, I didn't get My Breakfast until quite late this morning, because Mummy slept late, after coming home at one o'clock in the morning from the Caterwauling Concert she and her choir friends took part in up north.

Hey, Trixie - talking of winter. Shall we show our furriends the pictures Mummy took of Us, enjoying the snow? It's so purrty - like in a furrytail.

The snow seems to have stopped for now, but on the Radio, they said there was more to come. Mummy says we shall all sleep together in the Boudoir again tonight. We shall snuggle up and keep each other warm.

But I'm warning you, Caspurr - My Food is Off Limits!

White Magic

Kitties! Woofies! Humans!

I woke up this morning and looked out of the window and got the surprise of My Life!
Everything was WHITE - and there were big, white bits of fluff falling from the sky!

I've never seen anything like it! I tried to catch them, but the glass in the window got in the way and then, when Mummy opened the window, it was SO COLD!!!

I did so want to catch the bits of white fluff but they made my pawses all wet and Mummy made Me go back into the living-room. She was afraid I'd slip and fall off the window-ledge. (I'll admit, kitties, it was a bit scary.)

My Human says the white stuff is called S-N-O-W. So I've learned an impawtant new word today!

I think it's SO COOL, kitties! (Mummy says - "Cool? It's freezing" - MOL...)

But it is pretty, isn't it? That's why My Human took so many pictures with her Flashy Box.

Now I'm going to curl up on the sofa in the study and have a little catnap. See you all later, Effurrybody!

Stormy Weather

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-a-n-i-n-e-s and Humans)!

It's so cold you would never think that Spring is just around the corner. Yesterday, it snowed. It didn't really settle - not where we live anyway. My Human says that's because the ground was so wet from the rain (it rained for days before it snowed), but I could see huge white snowflakes swirling down. They were so very pretty. Pixie would have loved them. I wonder if they have snow at the Bridge. I don't suppose they do, I've heard it's always warm and sunny there.
I miss Pixie very much, kitties...

Anyway, as I said, there were lots and lots of big white snowflakes dancing past the window panes. I couldn't stay by the window long, though, because it was too cold, so I went and curled up on the d-i-g-i-t-a-l  c-o-n-v-e-r-t-e-r instead. But I had to jump down and go and hide because Mummy had a man come to fix the flood on the balcony. At my time of life, one doesn't like strangers coming into one's Home.

It's really a shame there wasn't more snow. Mummy and I could have built a Snowcat:-) .

And if it were to snow enough, the roads would be blocked and Mummy wouldn't be able to get to work tomorrow and She could spend the whole day with me. But the Weatherman says it's going to be slightly warmer, so no chance of that :-(

Have a lovely weekend, Kitties (Woofies and Humans too)...
