A Sad Awakening: Trixie's Caturday Art and Sunday Selfie

Hallo again, Effurrybody!

Once again, it is I, Trixie the Black Panfur, speaking to you from Jerusalem, Israel.

You may be wondering why I look so sad in My Sunday Selfie.
As you may recall, last week We invited you all to Our picnic barbecue in honour of Lag b'Omer, on Fursday night. We could not know that, even as We were celebrating, a terrible Tragedy was unfolding at the central Lag b'Omer celebration at Mount Meron, up in the Galilee. 45 people, including children, were crushed to death and over 150 were injured in the worst civilian disaster in Israeli history. We only heard about it on Furriday morning when Mummy turned on the radio.

Today has been declared a day of National Mourning.
So I am sure you will understand if We are not much in the mood for blog hopping today. Instead, We will just post Our Caturday Art and Sunday Selfie, and link to the Wise and Lovely Athena and her HuMum, Marie (hosts of the Caturday Art blog hop), and to the Sweetly Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet (hosts of the Sunday Selfies blog hop) - and leave the actual blog hopping and visiting Our Furriends, till tomorrow.

Under the circumstances, LunaPic's Sadness filter at 55%, was the obvious choice for Our Caturday Art.

Here, then, are the Blog Hop badges:

We will see you again, next week, hopefully in happier circumstances. Till then - Be Well, Be safe.
WE LOVE YOU ALL xoxox

Dear Friends, we have followed this sad event in our news here and have placed hands and paws together for all whose lives were lost, for their families and friends and for those injured. And also for so many others who felt the loss deeply in their hearts and souls. May peace come to all.
In prayer, Ann

It was a terrible disaster and my thoughts go out to the people of your country. It is frightening how quickly a celebration can turn into a tragedy.
