Only a Month to Go...

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-a-n-i-n-e-s and Humans too)!

Yes, there's only a month to go now before my Human begins her pre-retirement leave and can spend all her time with Moi! But I don't even have to wait that long, because now She's off work for the whole of Sukkot. That means, if you take into account that She was home Friday and Shabbat as well, that I get to enjoy her services She gets to enjoy my company all day, for eleven whole days. This evening, the whole Family (including my human uncle, who has come over from England for the holiday) will be eating at her Daddy's home, in the sukkah in the garden. At least - that's the plan, only the sky has gone a funny colour and there's a smell of rain in the air.
Whatever happens, there is sure to be a substantial Kitty Bag. I hope her stepsister has made the Moroccan-style fish she does so well...

Now, I must show all you Kitties (and Woofies and Humans also) what a lovely sun-puddle I found the other day.

In case you were wondering, my charming porcelain companion in this picture is called Dorothea. She has fourteen sisters. But it's not the same as having feline company. Mummy still hasn't made up her mind about getting a new little kitty to come and share our home. She says she'll think about it once she starts her pre-retirement leave. We haven't had a sign from Pixie - Mummy thought she would whisper in her ear  - so now she wants Me to help her decide.
I really don't know what to do, Kitties. I change my mind by the minute. What do you think?

The Waiting Game

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-A-N-I-N-E-S and Humans too)!

I am Very, Very Disappointed! My Human has managed to postpone her retirement by Four Whole Months! That's another Seventeen (17) weeks, during which I shall be left all on my own for most of the day, with no-one to pet me and play with me and serve up Tasty Little Snacks! I told her, over and over, Kitties, that I'm purr-fectly ready to lower my standard of living and not have Fancy Feasties every day of the week, truly I did! But She discovered that if she works for just another four months, she will be eligible for something called a Jubilee Grant, which means We will get lots more money. And she says four months isn't so very much. But Kitties, who knows if I'll still be around in four months? I feel purr-fectly healthy, but there's no denying I'm not as young as I used to be.(Mummy says, none of us are - MOL.)

Still, I must admit She has been doing her best to make it up to Me, with lots of tasty homemade food and all sorts of Pampering - and She has promised not to go away for a long trip overseas this year (though she did go off for three days to Eilat last month). I suppose I'll just have to make the best of it. At least she's taking the day off today - and she has promised to bake a cake...

Have a lovely week, everyone! I'll leave you with a picture Mummy took in Eilat. I wish I could have gone. It looks like the hotel she stayed in had a really great restaurant:

The Visit

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-a-n-i-n-e-s and Humans too)!

I had quite a scare today. At about half past two in the afternoon, Mummy shut me on the balcony. Shortly afterwards, the doorbell rang. Mummy went to open the front door and then she came to let me out  - and as she scooped me up in her arms so I couldn't escape, I saw who the Visitor was.

Kitties - it was the V-E-T! And he had a horrid, sharp needle in his hand and he stabbed me with it! I was so frightened, kitties! The last time he was here, he stuck a needle into Pixie and then she flew away to the Bridge! Then Mummy put me down and I ran into the study, all the time expecting something dreadful to happen to Me. But it didn't. Mummy said that in all the anxiety and pain of losing Pixie last December, we had forgotten all about my Shots and so the V-E-T had come to administer them and, at the same time, to bring a new bag of my special Urinary diet. But I saw him give Mummy some Pills for me. Against worms, he said. Such Impurr-tinence! As if I would have worms! But the V-E-T said it's best to be on the safe side and since Mummy goes out every day and often meets Strange Cats, she could bring back some Virus or some Worms, unknowingly, on her clothes or her shoes.
Well, if She thinks I am going to take those pills, she will very soon learn the error of her ways! MOL.

Fellow Felines (etc.)! I don't think Mummy is as happy as I thought she would be about her impending retirement. She's been looking very worried of late - another reason why I was afraid the V-E-T was here to do something Bad to me. I thought it was Me she was so troubled about, but it seems I was wrong. I thought she would be so glad of the Opportunity to spend all of her time with Me, but she seems to be worried about having much less money than We are used to. Oh well - I must reassure her that I shan't mind not having Fancy Feast every day. The Important Thing is that we are together, her and I.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone!

Countdown

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-a-n-i-n-e-s and Humans too)!

We are so excited, my Human and I. Well, I am, anyway. In just six weeks, she will be starting two months paid leave purr-rior to her retirement. That means she will be able to spend all day and every day with Moi, attending to my needs and pampering Me. How happy She must be!

Of course, she has a few plans of her own. She says she's going to learn a couple of fur-eign languages - like Italian and Welsh. And she's thinking of learning to play a musical instrument, maybe the clarinet. Well, that's fine with Me, as long as she doesn't forget her duties, such as feeding Me five times a day, petting Me and keeping Me amused. I've been feeling rather lonely since Pixie flew away to the Bridge, but now I will have company around the clock. Of course, I shall allow her some time off to purr-sue her own activities. I'm a very considerate employer and, after so many years of faithful service, she has earned a little time for herself, don't you agree, Kitties?

Six weeks - that's 42 days, Fellow Felines. I can hardly wait...

Shabbat Shalom to you all. Have a lovely weekend!

PS. I almost forgot - see what a lovely picture Mummy took of me. And without waking me up with the flashy box either!
