More Guard Duty

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-a-n-i-n-e-s and Humans)!

Would you believe it? She went and left Me all alone two nights in succession this week, to sleep over at her Daddy's place because he's been feeling a bit poorly of late and my Stepgranny had to go and look after my little Human cousins while their Mummy and Daddy were away for a short break at the Dead Sea!!!
She said that She knew she could count on Me , because I am such an excellent Watch Kitty. Of course, that's perfectly true. She said there was no danger of any Intruders or Unauthorized Visitors daring to invade Our Home, because I am such a Fierce and Fearless Feline that the moment they saw Me, they would turn tail and run.
It's great to be appreciated...

But it was even better to have Her home again.

See how happy I am that She's back:

Duty Calls

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-a-n-i-n-e and Human Friends as well)!

I must say, we Felines have to work very hard during the week. Every time my Human goes out, she tells me to be a good Watch Kitty and to guard our home against intruders and tiggerize any unauthorised visitors to pieces. You would think that, knowing how bored I get being home all on my own, she would just let me curl up somewhere warm and sleep till she gets back, but no! First of all, she objects to me lying on something she calls a  d-i-g-i-t-a-l           c-o-n-v-e-r-t-e-rbecause she says my furs will get inside it and stop it working properly. How can I make her understand that it keeps my tummy nice and warm?

Look, here is a picture of me lying on it.

Then, just when I have got nice and comfortable, she kitnaps me and moves me somewhere else, like her bedroom. She tells me that if I'm cold, I can snuggle up under the duvet. But she's just told me to stay on guard and protect Our Home! How can I do that if I'm hiding under the duvet???

Okay, so to make her happy, I make like I'm on guard.

See. Here I am - on guard:

Of course, nobody could expect me to stay like that all day. A Feline (especially a Senior Feline, such as myself) needs his beauty sleep. I am always alert. The slightest hint of an alien presence in the house and I'm wide awake. Naturally, I am conscious of my Human's presence, so if she comes home and I fail to greet her at the door, it is only because I sense it is her and know that it's all right to go on snoozing. That's how She managed to sneak up on me with her flashy box and take this:

Naturally, I opened my eyes after that, just to show her how on the ball I am and that no-one can put one over on Me. But she didn't make any remarks about Sleeping on the Job. She only said how impossibly handsome I am. So I let her take one more picture, because although I am completely impervious to Flattery, I knew it would give Her pleasure to post this picture and show the Whole World how lucky she is that such a handsome mancat as I, has chosen her to be my Mummy.

P.S. I'm pretty lucky too, to have Her. I don't tell her that nearly as often as I should - just as I didn't tell Pixie often enough how much I loved her. But Pixie is an angel now, so she knows. And in future, I'm going to tell my Human every day how much I love her and what a wonderful Mummy she is. I've learned my lesson. We need to tell our Loved Ones how much we care for them right now and Every Day. Because if we put it off, we may wake up one day and find it's too late.
