Guest Selfies and Caturday Art with Karma Chameleon

Greetings, Effurrybuddies!

Today, We have something special for you, something completely different, in fact!

Instead of Selfies of Us, We are going to show you someone Mummy met when she went to have her hair cut and styled last week. On her way home, She saw a couple of (other) Senior Citizens, gazing up at a tree trunk by the roadside. Of course, just like anyone would do, She went to see what they were staring at, and this is what She saw:

This is a Common Chameleon, also known as a Mediterranean Chameleon (at least, that's the literal translation of its Hebrew name). The two people who had attracted Mummy's attention said it had been bright green when they first saw it, but now it had changed colour so as to blend in with the tree which it was climbing. Naturally, Mummy being Mummy, She not only had to photograph it, She also named it -  Karma Chameleon, after the 1983 hit by Culture Club, in honour of that band's lead singer, Boy George, who is one of the few pop musicians with the moral courage to resist the calls to boycott Israel and who is currently visiting this country in spite of a backlash against him by a virtue-signalling clique of western so-called "artistes", including attempts to intimidate him and a wave of calls to "cancel" him.

Mummy made a couple of artifications of Karma Chameleon, with the help of LunaPic  (which was also responsible for all of this week's frames).  Inspired by the chameleon's ability to change its colour, both artifications are furry colourful.

The furrst one uses LunaPic's Nouveau effect, set to a fairly low 30%:

For the second artification, Candy, at 45%, was also quite vivid:

We were quite sorry We didn't get to see Karma Chameleon for Ourselves. Usually, the only lizards We meet are little geckos, which come into the house sometimes and which are said to bring good luck.

So Mummy thought She would see what She could do to remedy that.  She has been wanting to give the much-vaunted AI a try, so She asked Gemini (the free version) to create a picture of Us Kitties looking up at the tree and staring at the chameleon. Gemini uses Nano Banana 2 and it seems to be quite good, seeing as it came up with this:

It isn't exactly like Us, but it comes pretty close, don't you think?

Any way, Mummy got a little carried-away with her success and decided to artify this picture too, this time with BeFunky! So here is artification no. #1, using the Orton Painting GFX effect at about 65%:

And here is another version, using the Impressionist GFX effect:

And now, it is time for Us (and Karma Chameleon, of course) to join the weekend blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Delightful and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

So here, furrst of all, are the blog hop badges:

And now, all that is left for Us to do is to remind you that, COD-willing, We will be back here again next week, same Cat Time, same Cat Channel. Meanwhile, be safe. Be well. We love you all.
