Greetings, Effurryone!
Furrst of all, thank you to all those who joined Us up in the Enchanted Forest for Our Shavuot Banquet last week.
And thank you, Mummy, for saving some salmon from your Own Buffet Lunch for Us!
What We did not tell you was that last Wednesday, Shavuot, was also the Bridge Day of Mummy's Furry Furrst Kitty, the legendary Minxie, Queen of Cats.
Minxie was a beautiful little tabby girl, who used to sleep at night curled up in Mummy's armpit, with her chinny-chin-chin resting on Mummy's shoulder. Alas, Minxie left this earth far too soon, when she was called to the Rainbow Bridge on June 12th 1995 - just three days short of what would have been her 15th birthday celebration. An Evil Cancer took her away from Mummy, after she had bravely endured a couple of unsuccessful opurrations to remove all the tumours, leaving Mummy heartbroken.
This is a picture of Minxie, taken on one of those ancient, pre-historic cameras that you had to put film in and then take to a special shop to have it developed. Mummy doesn't remember exactly when it was taken or how old Minxie was in this picture:
We have decided to honour Minxie's memory by making her Our Repurresentative in this weekend's blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Delectable and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.
We have made three different and highly Original Artifications of this picture, all with the help of LunaPic and their lovely filters and artsy-fartsy effects.
Furrst of all, We created this beautiful, colourful pawtrait, with Delaunay at 70%:
Mummy thinks it's no accident this has a strong Blue Vibe to it, albeit sub-conscious. We are all feeling furry Blue after the Bad News this weekend - such a contrast from last weekend - the deaths of 11 more soldiers. Not that the joy of the hostage rescue last week was completely unmingled with heartbreak (see Mummy's own blog). But this time, there was no Good News to mitigate the Bad.
Artification no. #2 used Surreal at 43% and Tuscany at 65% (Surreal with Tuscany is one of Mummy's favourite Combinations):
Finally, Minxie's Bravery and Beauty are purrfectly encapsulated in this final artification, using Brave at 75%, overlaid with Beauty at 40%:
And now, here are the blog hop badges:
Mummy is falling asleep at the keyboard because of the heat. It's been in the mid to upper 30s C for days now and although today is a degree or two lower, it's still exhausticatingly hot. WE are lying on the floor tiles, as that's cooler (hot air rises, after all. MOL).
Till next time then.
Be well. Be safe. We love you all.

All of the art is lovely as was Minxie.
Dearest J–Cats,
Minxie will never be forgotten—regardless of what camera tried to capture her.
Hugs,
Mariette + Kitties
Angel Minxie was a sweetheart. No wonder Mum was sad fur a long time after.
We are sad to hear there is bad news your way. So glad you are safe but too hot. We have had a cold spell for a few days but will now be 10 degrees above average all week long. Blinds closed, air on! Precious
Minxie was a beauty. All the art is nice today but our fave is the third.

What a sweet picture of your beautiful Minxie! Love all the pictures but I think I like the last one best. We had a cat named Minx, or The Minx, a black kitty. We also lost her in 1995, in early July, at the age of about 17. She's pictured on the cover of my book, on the upper left ony website.
What a sweet girl your angel Minxie was and how beautiful it all turned out with the filters😻Your mommy makes beautiful combinations🎨 We wish we had 30 degrees again. It's so cold for this time of year here, and with only 2 hours a day Sun, it doesn't get any better. Maybe we pick up a little bit Sun from here when we go home🌞Peaceful Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead to all of you🐾😽💞
Minxie is drop dead gorgeous! And we absolutely LOVE the art you created from the photo! Keep being awesome guys!
Purrs Marvelous Marv
Those are all a beautiful tribute to Angel Minxie. Please tell your mother I am very sad to hear she lost Minxie after trying so hard to defeat that dread disease.
Minxie was beautiful. Anniversaries can be hard, no matter how much time has passed. Our hearts live beyond time, in many ways. Lots of hugs to your mummy, and purrs from my angels.
Stay cool and be well. ❤️
Isn't it amazing how a filter can completely transform an image isn't it? They look completely different!
Such a beautiful girl sweet Minxie was and the art is so lovely. Y'all keep safe over there, we're thinking of you.
How nice to see Angel Minxie today. Se most certainly was beautiful. We are so sad about the week's bad news over there. We're purring and keeping you in our hearts, dear friends.
All of the artwork is beautiful. Our favorite is the first one. such a pretty filter.

She was a beautiful girl!
She was a beautiful girl!!!
Minxie was a cutie pie and we can tell she loved your Mom very much and your Mom loved her just as much. The love shines through in her picture and all the artwork.
My favorite picture of Minxie is the last one.
How lovely of you to honour Minxie! You took a faded photo and made it vibrant. My favourite is the last one. What a cool kitty to snuggle up under Mommy's arms. I'm so sorry she had to die like that. It's interesting because we had a ginger kitty name Tommy in the 1990s who died from cancer in 2002. He had the best personality of any of them.
All the best.
I enjoyed the third one too! Minxie, you were beautiful tabby girl. XXXX
