Shabbat Treats

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-A-N-I-N-E-S and Humans too)!

It's still ever so hot, I have no energy for anything, but I make an effort now and then because I know my Human gets Really, Really Worried when I just flop down and don't move for hours. To tell the truth, Kitties, it is often an effort just to get up or, if I'm already up, to sit down. I'm waiting for her now, to come and take her Shabbat afternoon nap and then I can feel comfortable, knowing she is safely snuggled up beside me.

She gave me some extra culinary treats today. She let me lick out the last of the goats' milk cream cheese in the tub and just now, she let me lick out her dessert bowl. She said it was something called "ice cream"  and to hear her, you would have thought it was something really special. But I didn't care for it much, so I left it after only about three licks and demanded some proper food. That means Fancy Feasties, Fellow Felines (et al.) and this time, it was Tender Liver and Chicken - one of my favourites.

The Paparazzi have been very busy this past week, so Mummy and I had quite a hard time deciding which was the best picture of Moi to show you, but we eventually chose this one, because, as Mummy was quick to point out, it displays my beautiful pink and white toesies to best advantage.

I see Mummy is ready, at last, to take her nap, so I shall go and lie down next to her, so as to guard her and keep her safe from any possible Intruders. Have a lovely weekend, Fellow Felines (etc)!
But before I go, Mummy would like to invite your Human Mummies and Daddies to take a look at her own blog. She worked very hard on it and she thinks they would like it.

Anticipation

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-A-N-I-N-E-S and Humans too)!

I just wanted to remind you all that next Wednesday, July 4th, is My Birthday! I will be 17 years young. My Human has been sorting our her old photos and she found some pictures of Me when I was a really tiny little kitten, which she would like to share with you all.

Here is the first - she thinks she took this one on the very day my human grandma and grandpa brought me to her. They thought I was a little girl kitty but my new Mummy took one look and set them right about that (MOL).

And here is another one from those very early days - Mummy says I always had "a bit of a tummy"...

And now comes one that makes me sad, Kitties - because it reminds me that this will be the first birthday I celebrate without Pixie being here to share it with me. Pixie would have celebrated her own 17th birthday ten days after mine, on July 14th - only the Great Cat in the Sky called her to Him and she flew away to the Bridge on December 23rd last year.

It looks like this was one of the few times Pixie got the upper hand over Me in a wrestling match. I don't remember that happening very often. I must have let her win...

Didn't we both have big ears? And eyes?

Anyway, what I wanted to say was, you are all invited to My Birthday Party. Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. Israel time...My Human has promised that besides Birthday Cake, there will be Fancy Feast in all my Favourite Flavours.
And maybe Smoked Salmon too  and possibly Anchovies...Oh, and of course, plenty of cottage cheese. I am very partial to cottage cheese. In fact, if you look closely on the first of the photos above, you might just be able to see some on my nose (MOL).
So don't forget! I'm looking forward to seeing you all and to opening .....

(Okay, okay, Mummy! I know it's Bad Form to ask for Presents.  I was not going to do that.

No, truly. I was not...)

As I was saying - See you all on Wednesday ;-)

Snoozy Saturday

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-A-N-I-N-E-S and Humans too, of course)!

It's very, very. very HOT today! My Human says it will reach 36 degrees Celsius here in Jerusalem! I don't like that. There's no place to hide. Even with the air conditioning on, I just feel languid and sleepy. Fortunately, as it's the Weekend, She is home and so there's no need for Me to be on guard duty.

A propos guard duty, Fellow Felines (etc.) - I have recently been promoted. I am now Captain of the Guard, with the newly-created rank of Felinemarshall.
That is a Very High Rank indeed, my Human says. However, as I said, today I am Off Duty and can Chill Out (don't I just wish!).

This is Me attempting to do precisely that (and being purr-sued by the Paparazzi...)

Now, before I leave you and return to my well-earned rest, I would just like to suggest you read my Human's latest bloggie. It's got some very nice pictures :-)

Have a lovely weekend, one and all!

Remembering Pixie

Greetings, Fellow Felines (and C-a-n-i-n-e-s and Humans as well)!

Tomorrow, Friday March 23rd, will mark exactly three months to the day Pixie flew away to the Bridge. Not a day goes by without Mummy and Me thinking about her. Mummy thought it would be a Good Idea to mark her three-month anniversary with a pictorial celebration of Pixie's Life. So we sat down together and chose the nicest photos we could find...

This is Pixie and Me when we were very little kitties, in our old apartment. Mummy scanned this old photo into her computer.

And here we are, all curled up in Mummy's bed in the new flat.

This is Pixie a couple of years ago, having a little cat-nap.

And this is the one Mummy has on her desktop, so that we think about Pixie every time we switch on the computer.

And see here - Double Pixie!

Here's another one of Pixie at the old flat, when she was quite a young kitty.

And here she is again, full of curiosity about the flashy box.

Pixie enjoyed exercise...

...but, like Me, she enjoyed napping even more.

Mummy has lots more pictures of Pixie and Me, but this is our favourite. This is Pixie and Me at the old apartment, the one we lived in when we first adopted Mummy. Mummy likes this one so much, she made a special frame for it and she uses it as the header for her own blog

Mummy's eyes have gone all leaky now. And I, too, feel very sad and lonesome, remembering my little sister. I don't need photos to remember her, kitties. She's always here in my heart.....
