Hallo again, Effurrybody!
Trixie here, ready to lead my Fellow J-Cats on this weekend's blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Divinely Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Delightful and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.
But before We do that, I want to explain to you what an Oneg Shabbat is. Literally, it means "the Delight/Joy of the Sabbath". It's a way of extending the joy of the Sabbath evening meal and get-together far into the night, with songs and storytelling (and maybe a few snacks as well - MOL). Like all good Mewish cats, We have a an Oneg Shabbat effurry Furriday evening, after Mummy has gone to bed. I suppose you could see it as a furry special kind of pawty (as you know, We J-Cats LOVE pawties of effurry kind). But it's not just about scoffing loads of noms. We also have an artistic programme, which is both fun and educational. In order to make sure things are done propurrly, We have a committee of five to arrange effurrything. Our Committee consists of three (semi) purr-manent members, elected for a two year period, and two rotating members, who change on a quarterly basis. The current purr-manent members are three of Our Pawselain Dolly sisters, Miss Dorothea, Miss Laura and Ms. Lottie, whom you have met before, many times. The current rotating members are My Brofur, Caspurr and another member of Mummy's Collection - Mr. Twizzle, to whom We shall introduce you later on.
Now, as I said, We like Our Oneg Shabbat pawties to be both fun and educational. Last Furriday, We had a Comic Conjuring routine by Mr. Twizzle.
After that, We heard a furry interesting lecture by Miss Natalia about her native St. Petersburg. She told Us all about the world-famous Hermitage Mewseum and the Cats who live there.
If you are interested, you can read about Mummy's 2017 visit to St. Petersburg with her Caterwauling Club, on her own blog.
Mummy has been a source of Ins-purration for Us with her Caterwauling - so much so, that several members of her Collection have sought to e-mew-late her by founding their own mewsical ensembles. Thus, the Oneg Shabbat concluded with a delightful purr-formance by the Von Katz Family Singers:
After that, I was totally exhausticated and fell into a deep, sweet slumber:
I slept through most of the following day, in fact and refused to get up even to take a Selfie - which is why you will have to content yourselves with this picture of Me, peacefully snoozing.
Mummy also made two artifications of My Sunday Snoozie Selfie.
The furrst one uses LunaPic's Ceremony filter at 70%, washed over with Floating at 30%:

Queen Trixie, no wonder you are sleeping today. What a Sabbath celebration fur you. Tradition and noms. Lynn loves the Miss Natalie as she is beautiful. And of course, The Von Trap Katz are a line up of singers that meow the best. Precious
Oh my goodness ~ what a fun and amazing "extended" family you have. Why do all these special things "after Mom has gone to bed" ... she should be awake and enjoying it all.
We do like her special art for you today, it's quite lovely (just like you!).
We love your art and all the intersting stuff about cats!
Hi Trixie! We sure did enjoy learning about Oneg Shabbat, and your recent one sounds like it was amazing. Hugs to you all! XO
I liked learning what Oneg Shabbat was and you celebrate it very well. Lovely art too.
Goodness, no wonder you're exhausted, with all that going on! I love both your artwork images, certainly could not choose between them.
Take care and have a terrific week.
Trixie, I found this all so very aMEWSing! One needs the imagination and chutzpah (or in your case chutzPAW) to put together such agreeable rites. I applaud your inclusiveness, too! Animate or inanimate, all are welcome.
I love both of your artified works, but prefur the first because of the higher definition as well as the deeper colours.
After my own faux PAW with Shimshi, may I still use the kitties on your blog as polite fodder for Dani's blog comedy? We promise never to embarrass a J-Cat again.
Happy Oneg Shabbat furever!
Of course you may. Making others laugh is a furry impawtant part of a kitty's contribution to the Quality of Life.
Lovely to hear from you and your snoozy selfie did make me smile. You look so worn out! Happy Sunday Selfie!
The Katz singers re adorable. And so are you. Very sweet snoozing selfie and I love you art. XO
That was really interesting and sounds like a wonderful time too. Your selfie is most wonderful and your art is too.
I love your mom's collection, especially the kitty figurines!
Trixie, your Oneg Shabbat sounds like a really good time!
Sounds like a good time!
Nice to learn about Oneg Shabbat. Until you explained it there was such a pawcity of infurrmation on the subject.
Sounds like a delightful celebration!
What a wonderpurr celebration. Thank yoo Queen Trixie for sharing this with me. Sending yoo love and purrs. Dori
I have been rather AWOL...but here I am once again!!
What a fun post, and it was great to see who attends your pawrties!
When I was a wee one, I would line up all my 'stuffies' and have night time chats with them all...
Somewhere I have three kitties that could be kissing cousins of your Von Katz furmily...aren't they sweet?!
Us pups would be in snooze mode too after all that pawrtying!!
Your snooze picture is cute, and we like both artifications!
Trixie! I love when you tell us about what all of you are doing and...we got to meet the rest of the extended family. All of your pawties are of interest to us. I would love to see the Hermitage. I can't even imagine such a glorious place. And---did you say cats live there? No surprise though. They will not allow destroying rodents if they can help it.
