Caspurr's Caturday Art and Sunday Selfie For Jerusalem Day

Hallo there, Effurryone!

Guess who is your host this week, for the J-Cats' Jerusalem Day Special!

That's right! It's Me, Sir Caspurr the Courageous, the Caspicacious, Furrst of My Name, the Snuggle-Bug, Commander-in-Chief of the Impurrial Forces, King of the Tigger-Tabbies!  Was it my Sweet Little Pink Tongue that gave Me away?

Jerusalem Day is a furry Special Day for Us J-Cats, being the 55th Annifurrsary of the Liberation and Reunification of Jerusalem in the Six Day War, which took place many, many years ago, before We, or any of the J-Cats who went before, were even born. See Mummy's own blog on the subject. It is impawtant for Us as J-Cats, because Our Furry Name connects Us to this City. J-Cats stands for Jerusalem Cats! You didn't know that, did you?

So, as I said, it is My Turn to repurresent the J-Cats for this weekend's Blog Hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Snoozies Selfies blog hop, hosted by Our Dear Furriends, the Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

You may wonder why I am napping in this selfie, when I should be out celebrating. Wonder no more! It is quite simple. I really, really need to rest and conserve My Energy for this afternoon's Jerusalem Day Picnic and Barbecue, up in the Enchanted Forest, overlooking the Old City of Jerusalem, which starts at 5:30 pm Israel time today and which will go on late into the night - and to which, of course, you are all invited. The co-ordinates have already been sent to your Transportation Devices, but if anyone needs a lift by Magic Carpet, just say the Word.
Come on - you didn't think We would pass over the oppurrtunity for a pawty, did you???  Seriously? When did We effur?!

For Our Caturday Art, We have two furry similar, but not identical, creations.
The furrst uses LunaPic's Stained Glass filter, with an Israeli flag frame:

The second uses their furry similar Art Nouveau filter, at 85%, but in this case, we extended the filter to the flag frame:

We Were Abandoned! - Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies With Trixie

Greetings, Effurrybody!

It with the Greatest Indignation that I, Queen Trixie, Furrst of My Name, Empurress of Jerusalem, Israel and the Entire Middle East, Queen of Hearts, Guardian of the Boudoir and Alpha Kitty Extraordinaire, have to inform you all that Mummy abandoned Us for an entire Weekend! 

Yes, it's True, Kitties! Incredible as it may seem, she and her brovver went off to the seaside resort of Netanya on Furriday afternoon and didn't come back till Saturday night! She did leave Us plenty of food and water but that's not the point! She deserted Us for a Whole Day and a Half, for no better reason than to celebrate with her newlywed nephew and his bride, their furrst Shabbat as a Married Couple. There was feasting and singing and the reciting of Sheva Brachot (the Seven Wedding Blessings), and Mummy's nephew, as a Bridegroom, was called up to the Reading of the Torah on Shabbat - and We were forgotten. We had to make do with dry kibble, instead of Fancy Feast, while She was stuffing herself with all manner of goodies!

She didn't even bring Us a kitty bag!

It isn't fair!

However, We aren't going to be too hard on her, because She is furry sad today. Her brovver,  Uncle D., who has been staying with Us for the past five weeks, is flying back to England at 5 am tomorrow morning and will purrobably not be back for another visit for at least six months. We think - We hope - that during the time he was with Us, We have almost succeeded in completing his Transformation into a Cat Purrson. We just hope there won't be any Relapse when he returns to England. Otherwise, We shall have to start all over again when he next visits! We hope he can find a kitty to love once he gets back to London. Reinforcement Training is so furry impawtant, as you know.

Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies for Shimshi's Gotcha Day

Guess what today is!

Yes, you're right, Furrst Guess!

Today is My Gotcha Day! On this day eight years ago, 15th May 2014, Step-Grandma scooped Me up and brought Me to live with my Human and My Fursibs. Before that, I was wandering around furry dejected and afraid, because my Kitty Mama had rejected Me. I had a few ups and downs in the beginning, but that day was the Bestest Day in My Life!

I know what you are wondering - and, of course, the answer is YES! Of course We are going to be having a big Celebration up in the Enchanted Forest later this afternoon, at 5 pm Israel Time, to which you are all invited! There will be salmon mousse, and tuna pie, and mice cream and niptinis and catmint juleps and silvervine cocktails and grilled trout and cakes and....

Okay, I have calmed down, Mummy. I was just furry excited, because We have had to limit Our celebrations for the past couple of years, due to the Evil Mutant Ninja Coronavirus - and now We are back to normal and can have all Our Furriends over. You know how We love a good Pawty...

In honour of My Gotcha Day, We experimented with no fewer than FIVE of LunaPic's beautiful Art Effects. Do tell Us which of them you like best. We are pawticularly interested to know what you think of the black and white ones, with which We have been having a lot of fun lately.

Furrst of all, here is one using Scribble, at 54%:

Next, in the same style, more or less, is the same picture using Sketch 2 at 72%:

Our third version uses the vibrant colours of the Flowers filter, set at 77%:

Still furry colourful, but with a more textured effect, Our next attempt uses Yarn, at 67%:

Our final choice was a little more subdued, combining the best of both black-and-white, and coloured filters - Water3, set at 72%:

King of Snooze: Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies With Caspurr

This week, I, Sir Caspurr the Courageous, the Caspicacious, Furrst of My Name, the Snuggle Bug, Commander-in-Chief of the Impurrial Forces, and King of the Tigger-Tabbies, will be leading my fellow J-Cats on the aforementioned bloggie hops.

Just in case you were thinking that the C-in-C of the Impurrial Forces was napping on the job, I can assure you that I was peeking out from under my eyelids and thus, Fooling the Enemy.

What Enemy, you ask?

Well, there are lots of Really Evil Humans, you know. Like the ones who attacked people celebrating Independence Day last Fursday evening and murdered three Daddies and badly wounded several more. One of the people killed was axed to death in front of his children!  The Evil Terrorists were only caught this morning - alive, unfortunately.

The three men killed left 16 orphan children between them.

We have to purrtect Mummy against Evil People like that.

Life goes on, however  - Mummy says they won't break Us, come what may.

So, here is my artified pawtrait, for which We used LunaPic's Gauguin filter at 85%, overlaid with the Tuscany filter at 90%.

Several galleries have expressed an interest in displaying the finished masterpiece, notably, the National Gallery in London:

In fact, due to the great demand, it is probable that the painting will be going on an extended tour later this year.

Posing Like A Panfur: Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies With Trixie

Hallo again, Effurrybody!

Mummy woke Me up to remind Me that it is My Turn to lead the J-Cats on this weekend's blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Sweetly Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

You know, kitties, it's bad enough to have My Beauty Sleep interrupted to take a Selfie, but it's even worse that Mummy didn't even give me time to get My Beautiful Furs in order before letting loose with the Flashy Box!

I insisted on being allowed time to purrform my Toilette, before posing propurrly, like this:

That's much better, don't you think?

We tried three different artifications from LunaPic for Our Caturday Art. Here is the furrst - Crayon at 30%, to give just the merest hint of pink colour to my black furs:

I wasn't completely satisfied with that one, so next up, We tried Frost, at 50% (which you might consider an odd choice, considering the furry satisfying rise in tempurrature this past week):

Mummy felt there was still something missing, so Our Third and Final Attempt was created using the Dark effect at 70%:

We both think that this time, We nailed it. 
Still, you know what they say - chacun à son goût.

Before We set out on the bloggie hops, We want to remind you that this coming Fursday is Israel Independence Day. It is preceded on Wednesday by Remembrance Day for the Fallen of Israel's Wars, and comes exactly one week after Holocaust Martyrs and Heroes Remembrance Day, about which Mummy wrote in her own blog.

On Independence Day, We will be holding Our Traditional Barbecue up in the Enchanted Forest. We are so glad that the Evil Mutant Ninja Coronavirus has retreated sufficiently for Us to be able to have pawties once more and that We can invite you all to join Us at 2 pm Israel Time on Fursday.
