Hallo there, Effurrybuddies!
This has been a Most Extraordinary Week! As you may recall, yesterday was my Gotcha Day. It has been seven years since Mummy and I gotcha'd each other. However, the Festivities were overshadowed by the fact that Our Country is under attack once more, by the Bad Humans who live in the Gaza Strip. Of course, not all the Humans who live there are bad. Unfortunately, it seems to be the Bad Ones who are in charge. For more on that, see Mummy's own blog.
Furrst and foremost, We want to reassure you that We are all okay. Apart from last Monday (Jerusalem Day), there haven't been any boomies falling in Jerusalem. But they sure as h*** have been falling effurrywhere else!
We certainly hope no more boomies land in or around Jerusalem, because on Monday, Mummy didn't even wake up from her afternoon nap when the air raid sirens went off. She slept through it all (She must have been completely exhausticated), and woke up a couple of hours later to discover We were at war! Mummy doesn't believe the Bad Humans in Gaza will shoot any more boomies at Jerusalem (this time round, at any rate). It was just to show us they could if they wanted to. We hope She is right - because We don't have a Secure Room in the apawtment, and We are on the top floor, right under the roof. Civil Defence says if you don't have a Secure Room, go down to the shelter (many apawtment blocks have a communal bomb shelter) and if you can't do that, go down one floor and shelter in the stairwell, because the walls of apawtment block stairwells are reinforced. But Our apawtment block only has an open stairwell and the Shelter is three floors down. Mummy could never make it in the 90 seconds they say We have from the time missiles are launched and the Code Red/Iron Dome sirens go off! Mummy has heard on the radio of several people being injured - some fatally so - by falling in the attempt to get to the Secure Room or Shelter, in time. So She has decided to do as We kitties do in case of Emergency. WE go UTB. Mummy says She will dive under the heavy oak table in the living room and pray.
Now, it is time to join the Caturday Art Blog Hop. hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie and the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted by the Amazing and Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.
You may be wondering why I look so surprised in this picture. Mummy says that's my Default Look. I always look surprised.
Mummy took this picture with her new Meowbile phone - a fancy-shmancy one with four cameras - five, if you count the Selfie Camera. Mummy hasn't got a clue how to switch from one to the other, but She did enjoy playing around with the phone's Special Effects, and She used the Caricature filter to create this week's Caturday Art:
Chag Same'ach - חג שמח
Be well. Be safe. We love you all.

Your art is lovely!
Purrs xx
The boomies in your region are scary. So much loss all around.
Happy 1-day-late Gotcha Day! Your mom's new phone has a lot of cameras... phones these days are barely used as phones anymore. But that's good for us because it's easy for them to get quick photos. Your surprised selfie became a cute artwork.
We love the art, your mum will have fun playing around with her new phone.
And belated happy Gotcha Day! :-)
We can't imagine living in a part of the world where strife and war are, well, commonplace. We also never will understand human psychology. Technology grows by leaps and bounds, but human behaviour has not changed in the thousands and thousands of years the species has been around.
Stay safe and stay well. Purrs from Derry.
Happy Gotcha Day Shimshi and we love your selfie and art. Y'all be careful and stay plenty safe!
Your selfie and the artsy effect are lovely. It is terrible what is happening in your part of the world. I send good thoughts for you all to stay safe.
