No Peace for the Wicked: Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies With Shimshi

Hallo there, Effurrybuddies!

The Mighty Shimshon here (Shimshi for Short) aka The Little Purrince, Furrst of My Name, The Baby Mancat, Master of the Queen's Mischief's and Captain of the Guard - and it's My Turn to lead the J-Cats on the weekend blog hops. That is to say - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Deliciously and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

So, here, without Further Ado is My Selfie:

We are furry pleased with this Selfie, because of the multiple shadow effect of My Silhouette on the wall. We think this, alone, makes a wonderful Artsy-Fartsy effect, but We also made a couple of "official" artifications.

Here is the furrst, using LunaPic's Tattoo effect at 70%:

We stayed with LunaPic for the second artification as well. This time, We used Sunshine at 75%:

It may be just Our Imaginations, but We think the shadows are more pronounced in the second artification. What do you think?

Now, continuing the Tradition of the last two weeks, I am also sharing this week's post with My Fursibs, in what is (for them) a furry rare Two-fur.  Trixie and Caspurr don't often pose together, but for once, here they are:

And here is the Artified Version, using LunaPic's Hard Light Filter at 90% strength, followed by a light overlay of their Paisley Art Effect at 22%:

And here are the blog hop badges, before We Mummy forgets:

Now, as you purr-obably heard, the Wicked Humans in Gaza broke the ceasefire, so the War is on again. Since Furr-iday, well before the 7am deadline, they started firing rockets at Israel again (not at Jerusalem, where We live - but they did fire at Bethlehem which is only about 11 km south of here. We heard the boom! We don't know if that was intentional or whether they had been aiming at the Gilo neighbourhood at the southern tip of Jerusalem and the rockets had fallen short, as has happened before.)
They hadn't been sticking fully to the terms of the ceasefire anyway, as Mummy wrote in her own blog last week

We apawlogise for not having yet written about the fate of the animals caught up in the War, both in Israel and in Gaza. We truly intended to, but Mummy found some photos and videos of those poor creatures, which was so furry upsetting, She could not bring herself to write. But We will - We promise - because their stories deserve to be told and who will tell them, if not Us?

On a happier note, this coming Fursday evening, We will be lighting the furrst Hanukkah candle. Hanukkah! That means potato latkes! And donuts! We bet Mummy will be stuffing herself - and not sharing with Us, on the flimsy excuse that they are not good for kitties (as if they were any less unhealthy for humans - or less fattening)!!!

Time to go now, to give Mummy time to look over some new Mewsic She has received and to rest before Caterwauling Purractice this evening.

Till next time then. Be well. Be safe. We love you all.

Dear Friends, and Kitties ~ we continue to pray for your safety and well being, and though the day has not yet arrived, send all blessings to you for the celebration of the beginning of Hannukah.
Your artwork today is lovely as always, though we must comment that the original photo is quite stunning ~ her expression and the natural shadowing have combined to make a very beautiful image unto itself.
Be well.

Dir Shimshi, hope you did not start spinning about on the phonograph! Nice to see all 3 of you in art. It would be difficult to talk of poor animals. Just like it is sad of the hoomans. We do wish you a peaceful and happy Hanukkah.
Be safe and be musical.

Shimshi, your selfie and artwork are indeed marvelous! And the photo of Trixie and Caspurr is special as well.

We were so upset to see things have escalated sharply there. We are continuing to send fervent purrs and prayers. In this season of Hanukkah, we are most definitely praying for miracles. XO

Your selfie and art are fabulous, Shimshi. It was kind of you to share the spotlight too!

I'm keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. As long as I live, I will never understand human nature. Perhaps those who want war, anywhere in the world, could be corralled and isolated together until they either killed each other or came to an agreement, thus sparing the innocents, both human and non human.

I love the monochrome versions.

They look subtle and rather fine, I think. I have come to learn (taken years mind) that monochrome can be just as magical as vibrant colour.

Love all the pictures and especially the shadow effects that work so well on all! We do agree that they stand out the most in the third picture. We are sad to hear of recent escalation and we are keeping up purrs for everyone. I haven't seen a notification for your posts in awhile so I will try to see how to re-subscribe. Wishing you and your family a Happy Hannukah.

Your art, especially the extra shadow effect is divine. The tattoo effect is fun, yet we like the yellow, too. Maybe a combo of the two, MOL

And great your siblings, Trxie and Caspurr were so kind as to pose, too!

Stay safe, stay well, and may all the war be over very soon, for all the creatures of Israel's sake.

Oh, kitties and families everywhere in Israel and Gaza, why on god's green earth can't humans live together in two states and get on with the joy of life instead of the disasters beging created in that part of the world. There was a chance long ago but it was rejected. A big mistake. And your president, we feel, should be ousted for someone who is not so egomaniacal, someone who cares about his country more than he cares about his own self-agrandisement. Don't get us started, we send you peace thoughts daily and your kitties are beauties and yes the shadows are deeper in the orangy Lunapic. Peace.

If you mean, as I suspect, Netanyahu, he is Prime Minister not President. The role of President is purely symbolic and ceremonial. As for Netanyahu, I don't like him but I don't think it's true that he cares more for his own self-aggrandizement than for his country. Why do you think that?

Oh Mighty Shimshon! Your official pawtrait and the art created from it are all MAGNIFICENT! The shadow and the effects it produced have totally amplified your wonderousness. We want to thank you for stopping in to see how we are doing. We are well and happy. Winter has finally covered us with the wet white stuff that we all abhor...except Cinnamon! She loves to frolic in the snow - us cats don't understand as we find the snow balls up between the toes and melts and makes the feet extremely cold.
Mom has been busy. She and her sisters and her father are Facetiming once a week since their Step Mom passed. We so enjoy viewing their faces and seeing our fur cousins doing the same. We have been purraying everyday that the war in your country ends. We will never understand how people can be so destructive with each other. And it is not only where you are, but almost everywhere. Here it is more covert. We send you happiness for Hanukkah! And we hope that you guys get extra treats!
Keep being awesome! Purrs Marvelous Marv, Jo Jo, Kozmo, Cinnamon and Mom Barb

Shimshi your art and selfie are purrfection!

We want you to know that our church and the Bible study groups that she attends pray for Israel each time we meet...and she does daily.

May the joys of Hanukkah help take your mind to other better places at least for the moment. I don't think I have ever had a potato latke, imagine that!

May God surround you with His peace.

Beautiful artwork! You really made your selfie even more gorgeous than yourself! And your Fursibs' art, LOVE the Paisley overlay. Happy Hanukkah, friends. Thank you for visiting us over the past week and for leaving kind words over the loss of our Olivia.

That is beautiful artwork and the three suggestions of shadows are unusual. The first one is my favorite because of the reflections. He is a stately looking gentleman cat, our Shimshi! xx
