Since tomorrow, March 21st, is the furrst day of Spring, and since we will be putting the clocks forward the night between Fursday the 24th and Furriday the 25th, We have chosen a Spring-like theme for Our Caturday Art, using LunaPic's Flowers art effect, at 80%:

Now for this week's update on the status of the Evil Mutant Ninja Coronavirus here in Israel. After having a few cases of people infected simultaneously with the Omicron and BA-2 variants, yet another mutation has appeared - an Omicron/BA-2 hybrid! And, unsurprisingly, considering that almost all Social Distancing restrictions were lifted, the transmission rate, which had been falling for the last two months, is now on the rise again and as of this morning, it stands at 1.1, meaning it is spreading again. There were 7,783 confirmed new cases in the past 24 hours - and that's when we had got down to about 5000 new cases daily. Mummy is afraid We will be in lockdown again by Pessach (Passover) if something isn't done fast.
We have heard that other countries are also seeing an upswing in the transmission rate. That being the case, before We start out on the bloggie hops, We want to remind you all, once more, to make sure your Humans continue to take all necessary precautions.

Paws crossed your rates go down again soon. All restrictions have been lifted in Mississippi Mom didn't even have to wear mask at the doctors office. So things are pretty much back to normal here. So far no signs of the variant and hopefully it will stay that way.

Al mask mandates here are lifted, but my hubby and I continue to wear ours. I am surprised school children no longer need masks- IO am sure there will be an outbreak soon. XO

The omicron rates are going up like crazy in the UK after all restrictions were lifted a few weeks ago, and the new variant is starting to gain traction, a 4th vaccine jab will be available for over 75's in a few weeks.
Oh Queen Trixie, Katie caught the rep and has exposed him for what he is. A perp and cold blooded. Handsome but...cold! You know how THEYcan be.

Restrictions have all been lifted here but we continue to wear our masks. A lot of people still are, but rates are rising fast again.

What beautiful artwork of you, Trixie! Yep, our cases are ticking up a bit again too. But people around here just don't seem to care anymore. No masks, no social distancing. It's frustrating for sure.

Here in our province of Ontario, Canada, mask mandates have been lifted as of today, except in long-term care homes, hospitals and on transit. The biped will be choosing to remain masked for some weeks yet, as the Omicron sub-variant is in our province and cases are on the upswing again. It was an asinine political decision to remove masks immediately after March break for elementary and secondary students, and after all the St. Patrick's Day parties. So we'll see what happens now.

We have had our restrictions loosened, but I still wear a mask when out in public, and I HAVE to wear one at my work in the nursing home.
