A Trio of Twofurs: Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies

Hallo again, Effurryone!

Strictly speaking, this week should have been Caspurr's turn to repurresent the J-Cats in the weekend blog hops -  the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Deliciously and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet. However, Mummy snapped this adorable twofur of the Brofurs which She simply had to share with you:

And it didn't seem fair for Trixie to be left out, especially when there was also a beautiful twofur of her with Shimshi, keeping an eye on Caspurr, who was exercising his claws on one of the lovely big cardboard boxes regularly supplied by Mummy's cleaning lady.

And then Mummy thought there should be one of Trixie and Caspurr, to complete the set. But that wasn't so easy, because Trixie is furry wary of Caspurr and would neffur be caught snuggling with him. But Mummy remembered some of the early shots She took of them together when they were much younger and when Caspurr was still barely more than a kitten (when Trixie was tutoring him in Birdwatching and other Necessary Feline Skills):

After that, We did some artification, with the help of LunaPic. 


For the picture of Caspurr and Shimshi, We used Lake Art at 57%, followed by Connections at 28%:

Trixie and Shimshi came out beautifully in a composition of Watercolour at 35% with an overlay of Frida at 17%:

And for that adorable flashback of Trixie and Caspurr, We combined Storytime at 52% with Dreaming at 12%:

Oh! It looks as if it's going to rain! We enjoy watching the water falling from the sky - although We are furry glad We are not out in it. We will say Goodbye for now then and go and watch it. Maybe there will be a Rainbow later - who knows? That would be furry purrty!

Queen Trixie Enthroned on the Royal Couch: Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies

Well, after a few weeks break, We are once again taking it in turns to repurresent the J-Cats in the weekend blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie,  and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Delightful and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

So that means it is My Turn - I, Queen Trixie, Furrst of My Name, Empurress of Jerusalem, Israel and the Entire Middle East, Queen of Hearts, the Panfur Princess, Guardian of the Boudoir and Alpha Kitty Extraordinaire.

My Devoted Handmaiden Mummy took this picture of Me reclining on My Royal Couch, as well as several others, and by Royal Decision Popular Vote, it was Unanimously Agreed (by Me) that this would be the Best Choice for the blog hops.

We made three different artifications of this picture, as usual, with the Purrfessional Assistance of LunaPic. Do tell Us which you like best!

Furrst up, I went a bit Psychedelic, at 65%. We then added a layer of Jungle, at 27%, the better to bring out the colour of My Jewel-like Eyes:

Our next creation used Smoke at 58%, with just a hint of colour from Nouveau, at 12%:

I felt a little more colour was needed, so for the final version, We went all arts-fartsy with Frida at 70% and a Dark and mysterious overlay at 32%:

In other news, Uncle D. has now gone back to London and We purrobably won't see him again before Pessach (Passover), which is nearly 6 months away. It's lucky the Humans have Zoom and Google-Meet and WhatsApp and all those other techie things!

Miaowing of London - Mummy finally starting writing up an account of her vacation there, in her Own Bloggie, though She hasn't finished yet and has not yet posted anything new. She is, instead, working furry hard on her Caterwauling as She and her Caterwauling Club friends have a furry impawtant concert with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra at the end of this month.

Possum - A Spooky Visit: Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies

Greetings, Fellow Felines! 

That is how Possum, Who Went Before, used to open his blog posts. And why are We using it today? Read on, and all will become clear.

Last week, Mummy neglected to mention that the furry next day was the 12th anniversary of Possum's Journey to the Rainbow Bridge. It was furry repurrehensible of Her, but in mitigation, We have to explain that the previous day, She and her Human Family marked the end of the 30 Days of Mourning for her sister and brother-in-law, Auntie Y. and Uncle N. and her head was in something of a whirl. She remembered right after Our post went live, but didn't know how best to fit it into the blog, because, after all, Possum deserves a Post of his own, doesn't he?

So instead, We are honouring Possum by making him Our Repurresentative in this weekend's blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Deliciously and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

Remember how Possum loved to lie on his back with his legs in the air, asking for tummy rubs?

Well, here is an iconic picture of him, doing just that. Moreover, We gave the picture a lovely seasonal touch with an autumnal frame. That is because Mummy was finally forced to concede that Autumn has arrived, since on Simchat Torah, which was last Thursday, we start praying for rain (no sign of it yet!) and since last night, We put the clocks back. In fact, She also took down the winter bed-linen - the lovely flannel sheets and the duvet - all the better to enjoy that Extra Hour of Sleep (mol).

And in honour of Howloween later this week, We have artified Possum's pawtrait with LunaPic's Dark filter, at 42%, and added a creepy Howloween-themed outer frame:

An Ussie and A Guest Selfie: Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies

We have something furry special for you, as We set out on this weekend's blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie,  and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Delightful and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

Can you guess what the surprise is?

That's right! It's a rare shot of the Three of Us, curled up together contentedly on the sofa: 

We also made a beautiful artification of this, using LunaPic's Frida effect (one of Our Favourites, which We haven't used for a while) at 55%, washed over with an overlay of the Flash Gordon effect at 34%:

The picture is quite small and it's hard to see Trixie, half hidden behind the arm-rest, so We suggest you biggify it.

We said We have a Surprise for you, but actually, We meant a Couple of Surprises. We think We have mentioned that since October 7th last year, Mummy has taken to feeding the Homeless Kitties of Our Street on Our Entrance Porch, rather than go down at night to feed them. But her next door neighbour asked her not to, because when she comes home late at night, sometimes a kitty jumps out suddenly and scares her. So Mummy came to an agreement with the Neighbour that She would feed only CalliCallou and Melba on the enclosed entrance porch, and would feed the other Homeless Kitties at their former feeding spot further down the road. Mummy would have been happy to feed all of them within the enclosed part of the porch, but CalliCallou has become furry territorial and regards it as Her Purrsonal Domain (although she will tolerate Melba's presence).

This new arrangement does have an advantage however, as it means that Mummy can feed many more kitties this way (since the enclosed entrance porch is quite small).

Having said that, it must be pointed out that kitties are furry smart creatures and they know where Mummy lives. Today, Mummy found this sweet little ladycat curled up and resting among the flowerpots in the enclosure. Mummy thinks she is expecting kittens. At any rate, she obviously knows that Mummy's entrance porch is a Safe Place.

So Mummy fed her and gave her some water, and then asked her if she would agree to do a Guest Selfie for Our Blog and she agreed. And then, We artified it with a couple of artsy-fartsy effects from LunaPic - Garden at 62%, followed by K3 at 47%.

As for Our Other News - Uncle D. has gone to spend the second half of his visit with Mummy's sister Auntie N. so the Guest Kitty Room is now free and Mummy can feed each of Us in a separate room, thus ensuring that We don't eat each other's food and make havoc of Our Diets! (Purr-sonally, We think that's rather a pity - MOL).

Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies with the Little Purrince

Today, I, The Mighty Shimshon (Shimshi for short), a.k.a. The Little Purrince, a.k.a. The Baby Mancat,  Furrst of My Name, Master of the Queen's Mischiefs and Captain of the Guard, will be repurresenting the J-Cats on this weekend's blog hops - the Caturday Art blog hop, hosted by the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie, and the Sunday Selfies blog hop, hosted by the Delightful and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

We chose two selfies this week. Furrst of all, here I am, looking rather traumatised, purrobably because We were watching the news and hearing about all the rockets and drones that the Evil Humans in Gaza and Lebanon were shooting at Us!

We artified this with a couple of filters from LunaPic - Metallic at 37% with an overlay of Illusion at 18%.

In the second picture, I am somewhat calmer, as you can see:

The artsy-fartsy version of this one was achieved with two more LunaPic filters - Dark at 28% followed by Homer at 43%:

I just want to say that I may have looked calmer in this second picture, but this does not attest to any let-up in the missile and drone attacks, which, in fact, increased in intensity over Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement)!!!

Another piece of impawtant news is that Uncle D. is back in Israel and staying with Us (in the Guest Kitty Room). He couldn't get here in time for Auntie Y. and Uncle N.'s funeral or for the shiva, because so many airlines have cancelled flights to Israel, but he will be here for the unveiling of the tombstone, at the end of the month.

Wednesday evening sees the start of the Succot (Tabernacles) festival, usually one of the most joyous in the Mewish calendar. It is hard to imagine much joy this year, however.

However, for those of you who will be celebrating, We would like to wish you Chag Sameach (חג שמח).

Caspurr's Sad Selfie and Caturday Art

As you can tell, I am still furry sad at the Untimely Departure of Auntie Y. and Uncle N. for their Rainbow Bridge - and added to that is the grief of the whole nation as we mark one year since the terrible attack on our country last October 7th.

And to top all that, there are still Evil Humans trying to kill Us all and firing  missiles at Us, and shooting and stabbing people in Our Streets!
So if I am not my usual bright-eyed and bushy-tailed self in this picture, you will have to fur-give Me.

גמר חתימה טובה - G'mar Hatima Tova

Heartbreak

Greetings, Effurryone. 

Many of you must have been wondering where we were last Sunday, when We failed to post Our usual Caturday Art and Sunday Selfies, in the blog hops hosted by (respectively) the Wise and Beautiful Athena and her HuMum, Marie and the Deliciously and Predictably Unpredictable Kitties Blue and their HuMom, Janet.

The reason is so pawful that even now, Mummy has difficulty in finding the words to tell you what happened. But (gulp) here it is.

Ten days ago, Mummy's youngest sister, Auntie Y. and her husband, Uncle N., were involved in a dreadful car accident on their way to the airport. There was a multi-car pile-up and their car, which was in the middle, was crushed. Auntie Y. and Uncle N. who were on their way to board a plane to Corfu for a short holiday to celebrate their wedding anniversary, never had a chance. We understand they were killed instantly. We pray they didn't suffer. 

Mummy still can't quite believe it. None of Us can.

Effurrybody has been so kind. Auntie Y. and Uncle N. left three orphan daughters, Mummy's nieces, and it seems as if the whole neighbourhood - nay, the whole city and beyond - has rallied round to support them. Hundreds of people attended the funeral. One of Auntie Y.'s best friends, Auntie A., whose daughters are close friends and about the same age as Mummy's nieces, invited Mummy, her nieces and Step-Grandma, for Shabbat supper the day before yesterday, so they wouldn't be alone with their Grief. She is a lovely lady and she is also a Cat Purrson. She has seven cats and a little woofie - a chihuahua. One of the cats, Lily, is deaf and almost blind and suffers from epilepsy. 

None of Us is in the mood to pose for selfies yet, so We thought We would invite Lily and the woofie - Bambi - to pose for guest selfies.

Here is Lily. We are so happy for her that, with all her disabilities, she has a good and loving home:
